Do any of you cats have the low down on Francesco Pianeta? Never heard of him before, but Boxrec currently has him at #18... He's 25 years old, stands 6'5", weighs around 240, and is undefeated 20-0-1-12.. I dont know where Tua is ranked but I believe that he could wipe the floor with Chagaev. I am pretty sure he has won his last 10 plus fights against decent competition.I wonder why he isn't in a posisition to make waves in the top 10.

The fact that he fought a draw with Sosnowski(which many in the general claim should have gone to sosnowski) does not bode well for him. Sosnowski is a bum.
This is probably a bit closer to how I have it as well.. It should be noted though, that some of these placements could probably be interchangable... Once we get past the top 4, I really don't think that anything is set in stone, particularly once we get down to the lower tier.
Never seen him. You raided YouTube? I think that the HW division is weak enugh that Tua can be in at the lower end. I'd have him at #12.
In all fairness, the man has only lost twice in some 50 fights, but I do agree that a recent defeat to Zuri Lawrence taints that claim a bit... Here is a very brief clip from his last fight with Vidoz... He looks like he's in pretty good shape, but for all the big shots he was hitting that guy with, wasn't able to finish him, and Vidoz was no pretty specimen... I actually scored every round for Zuri Lawrence against "Dragon" Sosnowski. How Embarrasing. Zuri Lawrence is old and he is not a good fighter.
I have to disagree with the Chagaev sentiments. At the moment, the only advantage taht Haye has over Chagaev is that he took a Wlad fight on short notice, probably at less than 100% condition. Haye for whatever reason didnt fight Wlad. Chagaev beat a far better version of Valuev than Haye did, and probably in a more convincing manner. The Ruiz that Chagaev fought is also far better than anyone that Haye has beaten at heavyweight. While i dont necessarily disagree that he probably wont get back to his best, i dont think it is fair to penalise him for his only loss, which was to Wlad, who most agree would beat all others around, just as convincingly. Fighters should be praised for taking the tough fights, not penalised. Russian must be at no 3, imo. With Donald, Byrd, Chambers and Ahunya as victims, i think that Povekin has emerged as the clear no 2 in the world, and it is a farce if anyone other than him gets a title shot. I think Haye probably rates between Chambers and Adamek. I am also not sure about the bottom 3, although noone has really beat anyone. Tony Thompson actually probably has the best record of all with his wins over Ibragimov, Beck Krasniqui and i suppose witherspoon. I tend to think that Ibragimov might have enough wins to get him in there as well. I am not really that impressed with Sam Peter whose best win is probably an ancient Toney and perhaps Mcline. His wins after losing to Chambers mean absolutely nothing. I think i Probably might sneak the ancient Tua in at no 10 I know he has not fought anyone of great note (although i rate Friday higher than most) but technically he has not been beaten in 9 years and some of the guys he has beat in this time are as good as anyone the other contenders have on their resume. That is how i choose my top 10. I think it should be based on what who the fighters have actually beaten and not on how impressive they have looked doing it or other subjective factors.
I think Adamek´s win over Arreola is more impressive than Haye´s over an old Valuev and an even older Ruiz.
Anyone else think very highly of Alexander Povetkin? I can't wait to see him fight Wlad. A huge legacy booster for Wladimir.
It is a fair point, and technically a win over an ancient Golota(especially given the mannor of victory) is arguably better or at least nearly as good as these 2 also.
