just wanna c if any1 actually understands why de la hoya waited until just b4 the pacman fight to have iv treatment to rehydrate himself

he came in on fight night weighing less than pacman

surely he wuld have tried to rehydrate str8 after the weigh in

mayb he starved himself so bad he wuld have been sick if he ate loads but surely he wuld have put on some kind of weigt just throught drinking water

    thoughts??

i doubt a guy who fought at middle weight wuld come in weight less than a guy who had recently fought at welterweight and be fully hydrated

even if he was all fighters put on weight after the weigh in an oscar didnt

i always wondered this as well, roach says when they met in the middle of the ring before the fight he saw the needle marks and said they waited to long to hydrate oscar and left it too late, i think oscar weighed the same on teh night as he did at the weigh in so whats the explanation please esb

exactly...he had made the weight so early that his actual physical size was cut..he was literally a smaller man cuz he had to cut so much muscle...HE CLAIMS TO HAVE BEEN DOWN TO 141 JUST A MONTH PRIOR...

AND NOT ALL FIGHTERS DO....FLOYD DIDNT PUT ON WEIGHT WHEN HE FOUGHT OSCAR AT 154...AGAIN....HE CLAIMED TO HAVE MADE THE WEIGHT EARLY ENOUGH SO HE DIDNT HAVE TO DRY OUT..PROBLEM WAS HE WASNT FOCUSING ON ANYTHING BUT MAKING THE WEIGHT

Maybe he was trying to make it seem like he was still the smaller man on the day of the fight and after he got weighed on fight day is when he started to hydrate.

That would be a great deal of effort for a favourable reflection from a stat that many people will never even see

Wasn't their a conspiracy theory about how Oscar was way over weight and they "fixed" the scales? As the theory goes, they "fixed" it too good and Oscar came in under. Not only that but Pac came in under what they were expecting him to weigh too. Pac ate full meals that day just to keep the weight on...

    yeah i heard about that
pacman weighted in 142 and oscar 145

culd b true i guess if oscar struggled but in 24/7 he was like 146 at one point so unless he went up in weight and decided to cheat

probably a stupid move by oscar to lose the weight but 2 put it on so late may have been suicidal

pac man wuld prob have beated oscar anyway as he was part time and pacman is destroying full time fighters atm

He said in a ring magazine he was trying to keep his weight low so it would be easy to drop to 140. He wanted to go down to 140 after the Pac fight.
