    Hi Aussies.

I was just wondering which of these exciting action fighters is more popular down under?

Katsidis has a humble, workmanlike, strong-but-silent vibe to him. Darchinyan, of course, is abrasive, cocky and obnoxious in the most fun way.

Which appeals more to the home crowd?

Katsidis gets the greater share of my own sympathies, but Darchinyan's style seems more suited to the stereotype of the raised-bird, "Hey, ****ya!" sort of attitude that's drilled in my head about you lot.

To be fair Vic's achieved a lot more and deserves the greater popularity, Kat's obviously exciting and I love watching him fight but I think most genuine fans understand Vic to be the more worthy draw card.

    :yep

I probably ought to have not even given the "both" option and just forced people to pick, for an accurate assessment. Really, the burning question was which of their personalities in and out of the ring wins more Oceanic hearts and minds. Obviously Vic's the one with (non-interim) world title belts under his...ahem, belt - and yes, bigger draw. That wasn't so much the meat of the question. It's certainly possible to be the most popular guy without being the most successful.

"Who do you root harder for?" is the gist of it. Which one is more guaranteed to have you up at odd hours to see them perform in different timezones.

Does it also have a family-friendly definition of "cheer on" or is that just here?

I prefer to just shake their hands.

I voted for both. Vic has defintely achieved more, and I think his cockiness is tolerated more because he usually backs up what he says. There are still plenty of "racialists" who just hate Armenians though.
Kats just seems like the good old Aussie bloke, he doesn't pretend to be anything he isn't, he gives it a full go, and has never complained or made poor excuses about his losses that Ihave seen. Ok he claims a broken hand in the Diaz loss, but has also said it's a fair loss, and it seems pretty believable, at least to me. Likwise witht he Cassa fight he fully admits he lost his head.
If I had to pick one or the other it would be hard. I suppose Vic has won me more money. . . .
