The only good fight that I'd be interested to see Pacquiao in would be against Floyd.

    LOL are you kidding me?

In my eyes, Pacquiao showed another dimension to his game against Clottey. If the best way to beat someone is to just outwork them, then he can just easily pull that out of his bag of tricks.

The name of the game is to win the fight. Not to land at a high connect %. Do people forget that Pac pretty much shut Clottey out?

If you can outland your opponent by any means necessary, then its a good thing..

he shut clottey out, yes..all im saying is if he fights that way with floyd he'll be picked apart..his best chance is to turn it into a fight...if this ends up a chess match manny has very little chance.."your not winning a 'chess match' against floyd...gotta make him fight ot beat him..

    Do u agree?

It is pretty impressive that you can only land 20% of your punches in a fight and still have people brag about it.

Bottom line is Pacquiao threw 754 more punches and only landed 38 more. All of this with nothing coming back at him the whole fight. Boxing is about the art of hitting and not getting hit. That's the name of the game. It's not just about how many punches are landed.

if there's nothing coming back at him the whole fight, its cause most of those 1200 punches are landing on Clottey's arms. Obviously.

I know Pacquiao "fans" aren't known for their actual boxing knowledge, but fights are won by:

    Defense

    Ring Generalship

    Effective Aggression

    Clean Punching

So you believe that Mayweather would perform better against Clottey?

It would be a snoozefest! If Clottey would not throw any punches, Mayweather would not throw either! SO it would be a game of Cat and mouse. Waiting.....waiting.....waiting......waiting!!!!!!

    Idiots!~

Clottey never throws punches. That had nothing to do with Pacquiao.

Defense : Clottey only landed 108 punches over 12 rounds that's less than 10 punches per round.

Ring Generalship : Pac controlled the pace of the fight the entire time.

Effective Agression : Pac forced Clottey into a shell almost all night

Clean punching : Pac landed more clean punches on Clottey than Mayweather landed on Mosley

nowhere does "connect percentage" show up in those stats.

pac beat clottey in 3 of 4 but he blew him out in those 3..the only thing u couldnt give him that night was the better defense...

He controlled the ring, had very effective aggression as was shown from clottey not letting his hands go, and imo he had the cleaner punches (though he never landed anything real real hard)...

Defense was about all that clottey brought that night..i had it 119-109 pac

It most likely would be boring, but what does this have to do with the argument?
