Lets say for every punch you land on me, I land 3 on you. The ratio is 3 to 1. Now lets say for every punch Mosley landed on Mayweather, Mayweather landed 2. That ratio would be 2 to 1. 3 to 1 is a bigger ratio than 2 to 1. How many punches I threw doesn't come into play. Only the landed punches matter.
Even with that rationale, Mayweather's hit to get hit ratio against Mosley was about the same as Pacquiao's hit to get hit ratio against Clottey. It's a worthless stat anyway. Mayweather was clearly more efficient and effective with his offense against Mosley than Pacquiao was against Clottey.
So basically you're throwing out a stat that would hamper your argument. Punches thrown in this case do matter. Unless you're implying Pacquiao with "X" number of punches landed was as accurate as Mayweather with "X" number of punches landed. If we throw out the number of punches thrown I can say Mayweather threw 2000 punches even though he didn't. There's no basis to say who landed at a higher percentage(Which is what Ratio is), because we're missing an entire stat
Pac nuthugger says "what?" 1. Marquez wanted the fight and agreed to come up. Floyd weighed in at 2 pounds over the weight limit. So Floyd supposedly had a MAJOR advantage coming in at 2lbs over but Pac makes Cotto come in at 2lbs UNDER the 147 limit and magically he didn't have an advantage over Cotto? I call bull****. 2. Hatton added 7 pounds of MUSCLE, which increases power and punch resistance. Pac moved up TWO weight classes to fight DLH , Hatton only moved up one to fight Floyd. Hatton weighs 190 between fights... what weight do you think is easier for him to make, 140 or 147? 3. Mosley has hurt and KOed people with practically every glove on the market. Please just stop.
I think the point Philla is saying is something along the lines of 'if you have it, why not use it' so its not really a matter of efficiency... no one said you had to be an efficient fighter to win, winning is winning EDIT: also on that hit/get hit stat being a "worthless stat," SoxNation said only a page or two ago that the name of the game is to hit and not get hit amirite..?:deal
Hatton was done after Floyd. They asked Hatton who would win if Floyd fought Manny and Hatton said Floyd. Kinda strabge dontcha think? As for your Margarito, Cotto statements, their stupidity speaks for itself. And if you think Pac beats Mayweather, please state why... if you can get Pac's nuts out of your bear hug long enough. Tell Pac to take the tests if he's so confident.
Marquez vs Mayweather obviously your not taking into consideration that Marquez moved up two divisons to meet Mayweather at a catch weight so that Two pounds extra is considerably major when you have a older smaller man moving up two ****ing weight classes The Cotto fight against Manny, again Manny is the smaller fighter so the catch weight IMO was not all that bad it was fair IMO. This content is protected :rofl:rofl
Tell Mayweather Manny will take the test as long as they can test for his hand enhancers... Who the **** cares what hatton thinks he is a guy who thought he would beat both Floyd and Manny Hatton doesnt know boxing you can tell in the way of which he fights....
That's cuz you're a dickhead who knows nothing about conditioning. Pac fought DLH at 147 but made Cotto come down an extra two pounds. Think he didn't do that for a reason? And Marquez and Floyd walk around at the same weight. Marquez wanted Floyd to come to 144 because Marquez is used to dropping the weight and Floyd isn't. Marquez wanted to DRAIN FLOYD but Floyd decided he would rather pay a fine than go out like Cotto. Manny routinely hydrated to 148 when he fought at featherweight. You don't think Marquez did the same thing?
How exactly would he know? He was nearly unconscious for most of his ring time w/ Manny. Are we supposed to believe he gleaned some incredible insight during his bout with Pacquiao?
He fought both of them so I would like to think he can choose which is better. he knows that he came into the ring strong at 147 and was dismantled. After Floyd KOed him, his punch resistance was gone and he was almost KOed in his very next fight with the same punch that Manny and Floyd KOed him with, the left hook.
1. Doesn't mean **** that he WANTED to come up. Hell DLH wanted to come down to meet pac and everyone rides Pacs ass for fighting a weight drained DLH so you tell me it can't go both ways. Secondly Floyd BREACHED contract by coming in 2lbs higher than the negotiated weight. That's not the same as meeting a catchweight properly. Thirdly, Cotto was not taken too far out of his comfort zone since he normally comes in at 146 fight night, unlike Marquez who had to jump a LOT to meet the 144. I call bull****. 2. Oh so you knew it was MUSCLE huh? Did you feel him up just to make sure or what..? Some fighters carry their weight differently.
