    Excellent Choices. But Chris Bryd?

Look again, Fitzsimmons is on there.

I will take into consideration Jimmy Young.

I am not sure if I want to include John L under my criteria. If I do, he is def top 35.

On Ray, I am debating whether or not to put him in my top 20, let alone top 35. I think very highly of Ray. Boxing Historian Herb Goldman agrees, as he rates Elmer # 17 on his all time heavyweight list.

    Popz McCracken right?

I´d pick Byrd above McCall without any hesitation.

    I mean,

Neither of those men will make my top 50. I am debating where I want to put Folley, Machen, Williams. I feel they are all top 50, but not necessarily top 35.

I don´t think either one is Top35 too. Byrd above McCall though.

Some that might merit a look for a top 35 spot

    Jimmy Young
    Billy Miske
    Ernie Terrell
    Nikolay Valuev
    Ray Mercer
    Earnie Shavers
    Jimmy Ellis
    Gerry Cooney
    Tommy Burns

Tony Galento and Primo Carnera have impressive KO numbers and all at HW although not nearly all against good fighters. You have to add the BEST TWO modern HW together to get in that ball park. This impresses me although I am the first to say that numbers alone do not tell the story - on numbers alone Sven Ottke is a Boxing legend and so is Butterbean :)

And you have a number of excellent LightHeavys in your list to consider for honors in the heavyweight category - would you think about Micheal Spinks qualifications in that list.

The list looks pretty good. Some thoughts:

What about Tommy Loughran? Defeated three heavy champions, Jimmy Braddock, Max Baer, and Jack Sharkey. Also defeated Georges Carpentier, Young Stribling, Ernie Schaaf, Jack Renault, King Levinsky, Tuffy Griffiths, Victorio Campolo, Johnny Risko, Paulino Uzcudun, Steve Hamas, Arturo Godoy, and Al Ettore. Also Mickey Walker and Harry Greb. Was erratic and lost quite a bit, and Braddock, Stribling, Greb, and Walker were defeated at lightheavy. Also did not fight black fighters. Still, this is an impressive list of opponents with a depth few fighters can match.

    Deserves consideration at least.
