I think it all comes down to their attitudes. Manny is humble so he gets a pass on anything he does, floyd isn't and he gets hated for everything he does. Me, I couldn't give a **** about what they are like outside the ring. I just want to see good and meaningful fights. As long as pac continues the trend he has been on, he will be p4p #1 again unless PBF loses.

People seem to think fighters walk around at their fighting weights. JMM doesn't walk around at 135 he's pretty much in the 150 range. Floyd stays in the range of 147 but is normally comfortably over 150. Pac would rehydrate almost 20 pounds after his weigh-ins. Ricky Hatton walks around damn near a deuce but made 140 for years. DLH has walked around at 165 for years and supposedly weighed 167 when he fought Floyd.

Big and small is relative in fighting.

Even though Pac could beat Cotto at 147 or even 154, the fact is that he was moving up from 140 when they fought. Why would he sacrifice those 7 pounds moving up and Cotto sacrifice nothing? Its not fair for Pac to be the only one at a disadvantage. With Pac moving up from 140 to 145, and Cotto moving down from 147 to 145, both are giving up something.

Pac wasn't moving up from ANYTHING. He walks around pretty much at the welter limit and is supposedly in fighting shape year round. Cotto, on the other hand, routinely drops 15+ pounds in training. Fighting at 147 would not have been a sacrifice for Pac AT ALL. ****, he did it for DLH, a much bigger guy and harder puncher than Cotto.

Pacquiao moved up from Lightweight to Welterweight for Oscar, who moved down from 150 to 147. So once again, Pacquiao was sacrificing, and Oscar was sacrificing.

This is the circular logic of Pac fans. If it's okay for Pac to fight DLH, a bigger, taller, harder hitting fighter than Cotto, at 147, then fighting the smaller Cotto at 147 should not have been an issue. The only way a person can justify Pac fighting the smaller Cotto at a lower weight is if you accept that Pac and his team KNEW DLH would be a shell at 147. At that point, why give Pac more credit for beating DLH than Floyd, who fought a younger, bigger, stronger DLH?

    I'm just gonna repost this....

Its not circular logic at all. Its very linear.

Pac fought at 135lbs his fight before fighting Oscar. Oscar fought at 150.

They met somewhere in the middle, in this case 147.

Pac fought at 140lbs in his fight before fighting Cotto. Cotto fought at 147.

They met somewhere in the middle, in this case 145.

The logic is the same. Both fighters are giving up something. Against Floyd, Oscar didn't sacrifice any weight, and Floyd moved up 1 division. Everyone acknowledges that Floyd beat a better version of Oscar than Pac did. But Pac moved up 2 divisions against Oscar, not 1. And also, he kicked his ass 100 times worse. That's why (some) people say it was a better win.

That's not a linear argument, but an arbitrary one. Fighters don't walk around at their fighting weights. The bottom line is that Manny was naturally WAY closer to the contracted weight than DLH. So he gave up nothing. DLH had to drop 20 pounds to make the fight. At his age, that was a massive system shock. Pac kicked the ass of a fighter that was 100 times worse physically than the one Floyd fought.

And I've already pointed out the inconsistencies with the Cotto situation.

Wow really? If were gonna make a big deal of this weight draining ****, then I hope all the *****s can recall that Floyd kept Corrales drained down to 130 to fight him when Corrales was having a lot of trouble staying down at that weight.

Corrales' six fights prior to the Mayweather fight was at 130, he also went back to 130 after he fought Mayweather. Mayweather's fight prior to Corrales was at LW. So technically, Mayweather was coming down in weight for that fight while Corrales was at the same weight he had been at. Corrales was definately draining himself, but no more than he had been for his recent fights. Ironically, Alex Ariza was Corrales' conditioning coach for that fight. I guess he had to find "alternative" methods to get his fighters in the best shape possible. And please, let's not forget about Pac draining Morales' ass twice. Morales basically starved himself for a week prior to their second fight.

    You are an idiot!

No point arguing with you really.

You think that every fighter whose walking weight should probably fight in that weight.

    Idiot.

Hatton should fight at 170 then.
