Devon Alexander's recent 8th round stoppage of Juan Urango was pretty exciting suff.

A perfect punch. Check out my avatar, Urango's right foot is actally lifted from the floor by that punch.

Urango had never been stopped. Amongst those who had tried are Berto (76% of opponents KO'd), Bailey (77%) and Ricky Hatton(68%).

Unique stoppages are often interesting. They involve a unique set of circmstances or they are testimony to the unique and excellent offensive skills of the winners.

What are some of the great unique stoppages? I'll settle for examples where a fighter was stopped on more than one occasion but with the other stoppages comin when he fighter in question was genuinely washed up.

That is still the weirdest KO I have ever seen.

As double left hooks go, haven't seen many better though.

Galaxy vs espinosa aint a KO, Galaxy faints.

Urango vs Alexander was an amazing KO. How about SRR vs Lamotta VI, the way Robinson was teeing off on him but couldnt put him down.

That is one of the most perfectly timed uppercuts I've ever seen. Alexander is quality.

Well, if you watch it they get into a wee trade but nothing big seems to land. Espinosa then backs off Galaxy takes a step then falls over. The way he falls dosent particualry look like a knockout either, it looks as if he has fainted. Also if you factor in that Khaoker had a solid chin, it would be very unlikely to see a few shots KO him like that.

Also he did have some 'mysterious illness' that he retired with immediatly after this bout.

Hmmm...so not convinced by the liver-shot theory then?

I just dont see any solid punches go in, and Galaxy is out of it. A liver shot takes everything out of you, but it dosent make you collapse like that. Its such an odd way he falls and he dosent look like he's took a livershot. Its just so weird I cant get my head round it.

Anyway, I was watching Rosario vs Ramirez II yesterday and Rosario's first knockdown he scores his right hand, the force of it, actually knocks Ramirez off his feet, its an amazing punch, but Ramirez aint too badly hurt.

But the ending of that fight is 'unique' Rosario takes a hiding but cant quite go down and ends up hugging the corner post thinking its ramirez.
