I'm starting to wonder if calling off the fight was a sort of agreement to postpone it/build up some hype/make some more money.

Floyds only in it for the cash, Pacquiao is on his way out. What they would both love is a huge event, and even though it was going to be big when the fight was announced, now there's an even bigger anticipation.

On the other hand, Pac put his reputation at risk, so I'm not sure it was a deal.

It would've been better for Floyd to have fought Pacquiao in March. Had he fought and beat Pac in March, he could've fought the winner of Shane/Berto in the summer. That fight with Shane would've been a lot bigger if it happened after Floyd had beaten Pac and after Shane had beaten Berto. From Pac's perspective, he's much better off fighting Mayweather in November rather than last March.

I disagree, sir. I've been deployed since Valentine's day and would have written my Admiral in charge if that's what it would have taken to get the ship on a course to catch the fight and get them to let us take down our radars.Serious business around here watching that fight.Having it in November is perfect.

most likely. you know they have to fight eachother so they are probably trying to make this thing as big as possible by delaying it and having the everybody talk about it. at the end of the day, money dictates everything.

They did...it was all to add to the hype of the fight....now Floyd finally beat a true welter and Manny continues to dominate bigger opponents.

The lawsuit was to make it more of a rivalry. Now people are picking sides.

the first time around they wanted to make the biggest fight in the history of boxing in 3 months. They realized how stupid that was and how much more interest they could generate on the fight and waited out. NOW, i dont know 1 person that will not watch this fight. The hype surrounding this fight now is 100 times bigger then a few months back. It was smart strategy from both parties.

No because believe it or not after Floyd beat Shane casual Fans are saying Mayweather needs to move up in weight because nobody at welter can beat him. Seriously. They kind of ****ed this up alot of Casual Fans thought Mosley Had a better chance then Pac
They should have Fought and Closed the Curtains with Berto or Mosley whoever was to win.

nah casual fans just saw tha name "Shane Mosley".....that there is enough for that casual fan to think Floyd accomplished something great due to the name. so it boosted his status....Now people dont see him as a runner and boring fighter. he gained some fans and made his stock rise. Pacquiaos stock is already out the roof so it was just very smart business....

I have no problem with the fight being in November. My claim is that it would have been adventagous, stricktly from Mayweather's perspective, to have the fight in March. I also think that it's better for Pacquiao to have the fight in November rather than last March.
