I have been thinking this same thing.

Floyd's the master at hyping his own fights, I honestly would not be surprised if later we find out that Floyd suggested that he and Pacquiao do this so the suspence would add to the sales.

It never crossed my mind until I read your post but I suppose it would make a lot of sense. Saying that, why would Pac want his credibility damaged by being accused as a drug cheat? Does neither his political or boxing career any favours.

Good point, but at the end of the day it was just baseless rumor spreading.

yea this is true to But People I chop it up with offline, Majority of them want to see the Pac Mayweather fight but know Mayweather will win. Before it was a ? mark. Alotta People are saying he needs to Move up because he is on another level and the fights just arnt competitive due to him being to good for them to compete at ww.
Yes Mayweather did gain some fans but they were watching anyway lol they were watching to see him loose. I dont think Mayweather can get any Bigger or this fight, the anticipation can only Decline!

i think so as i think march was way to soon remember the reason de la hoya vs mayweather got 2.44million ppv buys was because it had 5months to hype and i expect mayweather vs pacquiao to break the 3million mark with the extra months to hype

You may be right, considering that even Arum says the fight needs to happen, and everybody's being quiet this time.

last time they were just stirring the **** up to add controversy and interest. Probably the best, most effective form of promotion.

Its a possibility. HBO will want the fight to happen in either May/June or November/December when apparently they get more ppv buys. With Pac not being able to fight in the May/June window due to running for congress then the November/December slot is the next window for them to milk every penny they can get.

This would not have been revealed as a supposed fall out between camps makes a so called bad blood fight even more of a sell (as if it needs selling)

yea I was just speaking as someone who really wants to be able to watch the fight uninterrupted in the comfort of my home surrounded by friends,Lumpia, and several empty beer bottles.

it makes perfect sense for them to have all sat down and go "well let's see..Manny wants to run for congress and won't be able to train adequately to fight Floyd..so let's drag this out and put more air under it."

Which is also something Arum has said.Back in like October or something that they wanted to make the fight but needed to put more air under it.It appears we've been had but goddammit I'll pay for the fight.I might even try and take leave and fly out to see it in person.

From what I have been told and the source is pretty reliable... the fight will happen, Floyd needed more time to get himself right after a long lay off but the fight for sure will be made he just didnt want to take Manny on in his 2nd return to the sport...
Pacquiao is doing some sort of marketing for my company so we see his people pretty regular... The owner of the business has been talking to him about this fight and he says the fight is a must for Manny he wants Mayweather..

Yeah this is the one thing that gives me some doubts, but on the other hand they might figure that once he agrees to do the testing for the next fight, he'll be cleared.

Also, they might have not expected the backlash to be so bad. Until the point when testing was made an issue, Pac was the good guy, and Floyd was the villain. They probably didn't expect so many people to change sides.

It was portrayed in a way where Manny would comply with what the boxing commission said, and not what Mayweather wanted, which somehow damps the issue (but this didn't work too well, because people still called him a drug cheat).

For what it's worth, I don't think Pacman's on anything for now, and even less so if this fight happens like everyone says it will.

    not floyd..

team pac is on record saying floyd didnt want the fight in march in the beggining and they would fight formane

than floyd said he did want the fight march 13

than freddie said they wouldnt be ready for floyd by march 13th

team pacquiao wanted no parts of a fight with floyd march 13

floyd wanted the fight march 13 with the drug testing but for some reason manny didnt wanna do the tests back than

Absolutely. I've been saying this from the get-go. They fight in March and it's just busting a nut too quickly. Why do that when they can make even MORE money fighting a couple other people in between?

I thought it was pretty obvious from the jump when Arum was talking about having the fight in Dallas, no question he wanted to do something there. Floyd's people didn't seem with it.

I think it's funny that fans have made this whole thing about a drug test. It was never about a drug test, at all.

Wrong. Pac is scared out of his mind. He will say anything to look like he is trying, but knowing damned well the fight won't go down.

Last time it was no to random testing and a 24 day versus 14 day cut off. Since then Mayweather has publicly said "USADA rules or no fight" and guess what? Pac says 14 days is fine. USADA rules are expressly AGAINST cut offs. He also says, "not too much blood". What? According to who? The testers take the blood they take. More random crap.

Pac knows this and is just pulling more of his crap to look like he is trying knowing he has left himself multiple outs. *******s will eat this up like they do everything else.

The quick turnaround would have meant an abbreviated promotional tour which would have been an injustice to this type of event. Nov makes much more logistical sense in that regard.
