liston and patterson was way out of prime when ali fought them. Patterson retired after the ali bout. I mean a lot of people give ali way too much credit for everything he did bc he got a charismatic personality. Don't get me wrong. Ali got a hell of a resume but he is grossly overated but personality combine with his accomplishments, he was one of the greatest of all time.

 

Asshead, I wasn't comparing Ali with Vitali. My point was that Vitali, who a good champ with five title defense, tried to make a legit fight. He failed because other fighters chickened out. It happens.

Ok, that's all well and good. But when you're Ali and you have already KO'ed Sonny Liston not once but twice - the public will understand when you fight the occasional bum. Ali earned that privilage.

It's hard to respond to someone who doesn't know what he's trying to say. Vitali has obviously tried to unify the division. Haye didn't want it, and that's history. As for getting injured in a bout that he was winning, it happens. There's nothing he can do to change the past. In the ensuing years, the guy has beaten every fighter they've put in front of hime.

In all honesty I would RATHER see a champ take a stay busy fight then be idle all ****ing year.

I have no issue with him fighting this scrub. I just hope he takes care of business the way he needs to.

 

Ali gets a little overrated, but didn't ali get patterson twice and the first time i'm pretty sure patterson was still pretty young/not washed up. Liston may have been past prime in reality but was seen as the man the first time and had only recently gotten the belt if i'm not mistaken (actually liston made prollly the fewest defenses of any hw that somehow makes it onto everyone's atg hw list).
Ali fought a bunch of great or pretty darn good hws.....

back on topic: this defense by vitaly ain't all that bad given what's out there, hopefully sosnowski makes it a little exciting even if it's an early ko loss for him. gotta be better than kingpin
