Today I watched Michael Moorer vs Bert Cooper. Twice. Great fight and I was always a big fan of Moorer.
I was a little disapointed when I watched it. I had heard so much about it and so many people mentioned it when naming there favourite fights. I thought it was good and for a heavy weight a lot of punches thrown but a messy fight.
Yoko Gushiken vs Alfonso Lopez (Thought Lopez was fighting quite well, then Gushiken takes him out in the 7th. Hit him while he was down as well) Jung Koo Chang vs Alfonso Lopez (unbelievable for an 18 year old)
i watched mitchell v katsidis again felt sorry for kevin he was trying to keep him off with jabs but kats was just too strong for him everytime he got hit it jolted his whole body :shock: he can bounce back tho he's only 25 :good
Marco Antonio Barrera vs Kennedy Mckinney Along with Carbajal/Gonzalez I, perhaps the greatest fight of the 1990s. Barrera starts very fast landing viscous combination's, but Kennedy would always retaliate and start to win some of the middle rounds with a flicking jab. Knockdowns would come later on, and we all live for rounds like 6 and 7. One of the most compelling fights you'll ever see and the night Marco Antonio Barrera came of age. "Who has he fought?". Johnny Tapia vs Henry Martinez Fighters seldom get more passionate than Johnny Tapia, and here he was at his peak winning his first world title against a game but over-matched Henry Martinez. Wonderful exchanges, Johnny Tapia had very fast hands at Super Flyweight and could go downstairs with his left as well as anyone around that time. Martinez would stick in there for as long as could but Johnny would not be denied, and some beautiful showings of sportsmanship afterward.
Is that your daily staple? I watched Marquez vs Diaz today.... got to say I'm surprised a judge had Diaz winning. His punches were louder but not having all that much of an effect save for the odd left hook, Marquez was landing a lot of sneaky shots in close especially the uppercut. Veteran master wears down and stops young gun :yep
