So you agree Floyd needs this fight more? No fight is going to bring him a big pay day like Manny-Floyd would.

I dont think he needs this fight more at all...The payday is more of what he is after...

If you look at floyds recent history HE WANTS THE BIGGEST MONEY FIGHTS...

when he beats manny there will be a new set of fans on here naming the next guy to beat him..Martinez is the name being thrown out there right now:good

and though some fans will give floyd credit, YOUR STILL GONNA HAVE THE FANS THAT SAY MANNY IS TOO SMALL AND FLOYD IS STILL UNPROVEN:thumbsup

Ok so you agree, Floyd wants payday, Manny = biggest pay day, Floyd needs/should want the fight more. If Floyd beats Manny, he's retiring. He's not risking his 0 against Martinez. And yes, Floyd cares about his "legacy". Look at his carefully structured career. Even to the way he boxes (safety first). You're delusional if you think a Martinez fight with Floyd will bring him a big day. Hes unknown to casual fans. As for not getting credit, that comes with the territory of being a great. Both Manny and Floyd don't get enough credit for their fights. You can't please everyone.

You know what now that I think about it, Floyd doesn't have much to lose fighting Martinez, IF he beats pac, because if he loses then people in the future will just chalk it up to be that Floyd was in a weight class he shouldn't have anything to do with, so it wouldn't damage his legacy too much. If he wins, then his legacy is more solidified. Either way, he gets money. Lots of it.

martinez is a much different story...Martinez at 160 has a better chance to beat floyd than pac at 147..

i dont believe he needs it more at all..never said that...i just think he is liking the payday...i mean he just made 40 million for a guy who was bigger than him..i think if he can make 40 or more fighting a smaller guy than its easy picking...alotta people take notice to floyd struggling with southpaws...well those same people should look at how easy floyd can walk smaller guys down when he does choose to box off his front foot..

i honestly dont think floyd cares about his opponent..he could fight matthew hatton and he would really try and justify it somehow...as a floyd fan i wouldnt buy it at all...but thats not to say that he wouldnt fight him and try and justify it some how...i mean u seen how greedy and cocky he is

They didn't have a cutoff. The BLOOD testing was just not done after 18 days. Testing continued. However the USADA still reserved the right to test if they felt they needed to.

I agree. He probably wouldn't of ask for it if his camp didn't put the thought in his head. I still think the test is a good idea. Shane was on something when he fought De la hoyle the second time, and the boxing commission didn't pick it up in his urine samples. That proof that there original system is not as effective as the olympic syle testing. It's better to be save then sorry.

What do you mean source? It is known that there are no testing cut offs or any other negotiations for convenience in USADA testing. When you sign up with them you are at their mercy. There is no negotiating. It is plastered all over their website.

Don't just shout "source" when information is readily available... Geez.

Yeah man there are no such things as "test cut offs" in USADA testing. The USADA won't allow it. So basically saying you wan't one kills USADA testing.

That crap is subtle and slick and these *******s are so simple they will never see the trick that Pac just pulled on them.

nah i see what your sayin now...took me a quick minute...well they can always pull USADA OUT..I BELIEVE THEY WERE GOING TO DO THAT LAST TIME..WHY NOT THIS TIME?

For fear of the fight going down the drain, the camp of Floyd Mayweather Jr. has softened up a bit on its position that an Olympic-style drug testing be mandated on Manny Pacquiao to ensure a level playing field, Golden Boy Promotions (GBP) Chief Executive Officer Richard Schaefer said on Saturday (Sunday in Manila).
“As long as there’s a blood test, as long as there’s a urine test and as long as it’s random, a [specificied] cutoff date is agreeable to us,” Schaefer told Lance Pugmire of the Los Angeles Times. “We’re saying, ‘We’re OK,’ and we hope Pacquiao [and his promoter and trainer] are OK.”
Pacquiao and Mayweather have both agreed to face each other on March 13, 2010, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, but a demand by Mayweather that Pacquiao be subjected to Olympic-style testing was met with opposition by Pacquiao’s people, including promoter Bob Arum, who declared the fight dead a few days ago.
Pacquiao’s camp said the testing being conducted by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) should be more than enough to determine if the Filipino pound-for-pound king is taking banned substances.
Schaefer also told ESPN’s Dan Rafael that “we are OK to move off USADA, “What we’re saying, and what is important to us, is four things – that the tests be random, that they include blood and urine and the time frame, meaning when do you stop the tests before the fight but know they will still be effective. Three of them we have agreed on –random, blood and urine. So now it is a matter of the two sides working out the specifics of the cutoff date to assure it will still be effective.”

MAYBE IF THEY USE A DIFFERENT SOURCE TO CONDUCT THE TESTS THAN THE POLICIES OF THE PARTY THAT IS CONDUCTING THE TESTS COULD BE BENT IN ABLE TO ACCOMIDATE THE 14 DAY DEMAND

WHAT U THINK? NOT SURE IF YOU KNOW BUT I BACK FLOYD IN THIS ...ITS CLEAR REGARDLESS OF THE REASON HE WANTS THE TEST, THAT HE HAS THE MORAL HIGH GROUND..ONLY IDIOT *******S THINK OTHERWISE:good ESPECIALLY IN THIS ERA OF SPORTS WHERE PEDS ARE COMMON..
