Ji Hoon Kim - the dark horse of the 130/135lb divisions.

Yup. And the guy he was fighting last night (forgot his name) was giving him a boxing lesson prior to the KO. He fights any A or B level fighter with sharp boxing skills and he gets embarrassed. But he's fun to watch for sure.

 

He's fun to watch, but like all of the above said: Put him in there with someone who has decent skills and a big punch and he's gonna get knocked thru the ropes. I've never seen a more talented fighter in greater need of a good trainer than Ji Hoon Kim. Put that boy with Freddie Roach and you've got something special.

Kim is a punching bag. Almost every punch his opponent threw landed flush! Kim will not get very far once he faces quality opposition.

someone needs to sit this guy down and make him watch Mancini vs Kim.

Considering how young he is, and the fact that he was so inexperienced those losses mean nothing.

Humberto Soto, Oscar De La Hoya had a few losses. They all turned out to be good champions.


On the flip side, he won't be able to go further without getting some skills.

Nothing wrong with taking a few punches in order to get yours in but man, Ameth was schooling him in there. Anyone with a slightly better chin and decent skills is gonna batter him into a coma. Gotta be some better trainers in S Korea he can hit up. Is the guy in his corner his father?

 

True korean fighter but definitely needs some defense if he wants to be compared to the likes of Chang Jung Koo

 

Well, he turned pro at 17 with 6 weeks of training. I think he lost 3 of his first 5 fights. But he's on a 12 fight winning streak with like 11 KOs.

 

the kid got feed to the lions in the first 2 years of his career he went 8-5
now hes won 13 straight 12 by ko and beat some good guys koba gogoladze, zolani marali, tyrone harris he's only 23 aswell so he has plenty of time

This dudes first loss will be by KO. He has no defense and thinks he can KO everyone.

IF he gets a top trianer before year end
and they give him 2 years of consistent fights to train. Then maybe. Other wise this dude isnt even at B+.

 

You think but then again he might be best the way he's fighting now.
