He was a great champion no question, but after every one of his losses he would call it quits, I mean, really? :think

Do you guys think Tito's career should be brought into question because of the issue with the handwraps? I read an article that makes it sound like this could have been a serious advantage over his opponents that he wouldn't have had half as much success without.

I'm not condemning him, just asking.

Tito was a great warrior at one point and time (if you need any evidence of that see the Vargas fight). His loss to Hopkins was just a case of B-Hop being too big and too good. The losses to Wright and Jones were cases where Tito showed up for a check essentially.

definately not an all time great. Winky Wright ****ed him up. DLH boxed the **** out of him for 9 rounds and then acted like an ass and ran for the last 3. That is the ONLY reason Tito one that fight.

Sore loser or quitter? :lol are those the only options...
I just think he got too caught up on the big fights and being a superstar. After the Hopkins fight he didn't really retired, he came back, fought a tune up and looked for he rematch.

After he was unable to get the rematch he felt there was nothing more for him in boxing and retired. His official plan was to beat Hopkins and then fight Jones for a super fight and then retire anyways. So when he saw his plans crumble he decided to walk off.

His mistake was to come back 2 years later. After he lost to winky the only reason he retired was because his dad retired and he simply said that if he's not training with his dad he's not going to fight. After that his father said OK to Tito's wishes of fighting his dream fight versus Jones and so it happened. Since that loss he hasn't officially retired and hasn't fought only because he wants unrealistic fights with too much money.
