the Khan from the Mallinagi fight vs the Mitchell from the 2nd Tyszu fight who's knee wasn't bad?

how does Khan match up with this version of mitchell that was riding an pretty good win streak?

i feel mitchell hits hard and fast enough to get Khan out of there.

    Yeah my bad

Id pick Khan...Sharmba was on the slide bigtime by this fight, his reflexes werent what they were. And thats gonna hurt him against the handspeed of Khan.

Mitchell isnt really that big a puncher...He wasnt a light puncher by any means, his left down the pipe had some sting. But I dont thinks it the kind of pop that will tickle Khan's beard enough.

I see Sharmba being cagey as usual early on but once his slows Khan will pick him off and beat him to the punch...Sharmba's offensive output will slow to the occasional awkward lunge or straight left to the body, as he gets outboxed and outworked by the rangier, younger and quicker man.

i don't know about being on the slide he was in better form then the 1st fight and was riding a 7 fight win streak. him being blasted out in 3 rounds has more to do with KT power.

and mitchell had a decent chin. it's a close fight but Khan's chin fails him in this one

How do you think he was better?

Even with a bum knee he gave Kostya a fair bit of trouble in the first one before he quit..Tszyu was battling injuries and inactivity coming into the second one but completely blew him out, Mitchell wasnt even competitive.
He got hit with just about everything, for me indicating that his reflexes were becoming shot.

I dont know how he was better to be honest..He was still good enough to be the no2 in the division and beat blokes like Tackie and Stewart but I dont think the fact he was beating them is any indication he had some how improved from 4 years earlier, especially because he was a fighter who relied on his athleticism and reflexes a fair bit...He was on like a 20 fight winning streak coming into the first bout by the way, so I dont think it really matters.

Sharmba has a better chin than Khan but I dont know about it being decent. He was dropped to many times, and looked hurt when it happened..even by light hitters like Johnston.
I suppose its decent enough...but Khan has the power to dent it, no doubt in my mind.

I just see Mitchell falling apart when he discovers he doesnt have the speed advantage in there and so many of his shots are falling short.
More often then not I dont think he has the offensive ability or power to trouble Khan the way others can and have...I reckon he is a difficult target for Amir to pin down consistently but not much more...especially this version of Mitchell.

Sharmba was an underrated fighter IMO, solid guy, fought like he was in the 1920s racking up fights every month. Good speed, great technique.

a bad knee is worse then your refelexs not being as sharp as before and Tyszu has always been a accurate puncher after the Phillips fight.
Mitchell was doing good in the 1st fight but he wasn't a 100% so the 2nd fight version gets the Nod. and mitchel was still fast and got to KT a few times in the 2nd fight. and yes Khan does have decent pwer and is fast but he also leaves himself open.

Thats what Im trying to say though mate, even when he wasnt 100% he still gave Kostya a tricky fight..Uninjured 4 years later he got spanked.

Im not using a lame version of Mitchell and pitting him against Khan..I say this under the impression that Sharmba will be a fully fit version of his 2001 self, thats what I mean by that.
Mitchell moved pretty good before the roughousing inflamed his injury..so try to picture Sharmba from those early rounds of the first Tszyu fight, that Mitchell was better equipped to battle Khan IMO...not that I would pick him anyway.

Amir Khan may be WBA light welterweight champion of the world, but to me he's still an up and coming fighter. I couldn't pick him just yet.

Sharmba has more than enough power to hurt Khan. He was the only boxer to knock down and hurt the granite-chinned Tackie.

Khan didn't impress me at all in his last fight. He looked amateurish and out of balance against a shopworn Malignaggi who has 0 power.

You could argue that the 2nd Tszyu fight was the beginning of Sharmba's downslide as a fighter. Before that fight he was taking contenders out left and right, but during and after that fight he just never looked quite the same. So either Tszyu caught Mitchell just after his prime, or he ended it.

maybe back then sharmba would have done something with khan..

now... it's a bit late... and he gotta be inactive. I haven't heard **** about him... and i always thought he was good.

a name that don't mean much for khan. throwing a cricket in the tank with a more younger vicious cricket.
