That makes sense b/c the punch stats were very much in favor of Mares. He must of touched Perez a lot in those rounds. I think Mares body work had a very visible effect on Perez.

With that said Perez clearly deserved a draw and freddy your just being bias for the Mexican as always:lol::lol::lol:

I thought Mares won it myself but it was close. I don't think it was a robbery but I think the wrong man won. But......He was the champion and While Mares started strong and ended strong the middle rounds seemed to favor the champ and I don't really think Mares "TOOK" the title. If I had it my way I'd give the kid the "W".

That's how I had it....one point win for Mares. But in no way a robbery.

but do you really think perez did enough to keep his title...just as much as the challenger has to want to win it, the champ should want to defend it too.......

i understand that perez took some middle rounds, but mares was never dominated in any round the way perez was in about 6 of them.......

Now that I agree with, but crying robbery for days straight is taking away from the fight that was. It was a brilliant fight, and should happen again regardless whom we had winning (for the record I had Mares 115-113 after rewatching/rescoring, Mares by one point after scoring it live).

Perez is scared of a Mares and wont give him a rematch. Perez knows he got lucky and will walk away with a gift.

That I agree...the rounds that Mares won were DEFINITE his rounds without question. But since this is boxing and its scored "round by round"....sometimes **** like this happens.

Like Nard fighting Taylor......Nard won rounds BIGGER and more clearly than the rounds Jermain won....but Jermain like Perez may have (or not) won more rounds over all even if they were not as clear.

Most actually had it a draw or with a slight edge to Mares. But most of the ringside media had it very close and most a draw.
