Anyone read the Frank Warren article on the Scene? Talks up the Khan ITV Show in terms of number of viewers... speaks well of Khan too... Suprised daggers aint come out yet.
I remember Froch saying the exact same thing after the Jermaine Taylor fight. What both Khan and Froch were annoyed by is how American TV coverd them in better light than their British counterparts. This might have frustrated both because you know how people can be influenced by the commentry (khan mentions this in article). I actualy watched the fight on HBO but my mate was watchin it on ITV and we were txting at the same time. After the first three rounds, my mate told me that Khan wasnt looking good, now you would never have got that impression from HBO. TBH though its not worth mentioning this to the press, but like people have said, it is the Daily Starr. They could have picked up a random comment when he was talking to somebody. It does seem to me that there's alot of people out there who are looking for any excuse not to like the boy. '' Oh, he talks too much'', well thats what happens when youre constantly asked questions by the press.
Fair enough however which was it, you Khan't (you like that ) have it both ways. Was he asked by the press or was it a comment that was picked up ?
I'm pretty sure that he made this comment on his own. The last point in my post wasnt reffering to this particular article but just in general. For example (Reporter: what do you think about PBF and Pac. Amir: Well theyre great fighters, I hope to be facing the likes of PBF and Pac in 18 months) = Khan calls out Mayweather and Pac. Look I dont wanna defend the guy, he can obviously be an idiot alot of the time (dissing froch, superstar comment). All I wanna say, is that if others like a Mitchel for example, had the same press coverage as him, then theyd come out with similar ''crap''. One of the most annoying things for me is when Shaefer and De La Hoya keep reffering to Khan as having Charisma I mean wtf atsch. The guy is a fighter and should mainly be judged on that, the funny thing is, if you notice, Khan makes most sence and seems most natrual when he talks straight after a fight lol
Yep :good It was the same with Froch too to be fair. He was goaded a hell of a lot into conversations about Calzaghe, then when he answers its always the same old responses on here. Khan shouldn't really be allowed to speak to the media without a puppeteer beside him. I've never known someone in the sport put his foot in it as much as he does. Obviously Mayorga and Toney and the like spout **** but they don't give a ****. People are trying to make Khan into a media machine and he keeps saying silly little things that dont help his cause.... ESPECIALLY when he's battling a little racial prejudice in his own country.
What a load of ****, Khan and his people wanted it on SBO, Sky made them an offer which they refused saying it was not enough. They then began looking to other networks hoping Sky would change their decision, they didn't and so ITV ended up buying it for next to nothing
ODLH had offered it for next to nothing to ITV when he came over for the Khan-Malignaggi presser in london, there was loads of hearsay and rumour regarding it then. Basically to get Khans name back out there, and seeing as it did 5 times as much as the FA cup replay on an hour before it, it seems like it worked out just fine. And Sky will be all on his nuts to get the Maidana /Alexander/Bradley tournament if it comes off.
I've hated McKenzie since the day he picked up the mic but he was no where near as bad in the Khan fight as he has for others. I wish Khan just said "McKenzie is completely useless, why do ITV even employ him???".
I rememebr him from being on sky, in the studio in the Naz days, and absolutely hating Naz, it was almost as if Naz made a video of him having a sex sandwich with his wife and mother, and forcing him to watch it over, and over, and over and over again! lol. I think i'm the only one who can bare his commentary, i dont think he's as bad as Jim Watt, who's a caricature lol.
Again, nonsense, It was nothing to do with getting Khan's name back out there. They wouldn't accept Sky's offer saying it was too low, so Team Khan spent a month going the various media outlets hoping Sky would come back in with a better offer. It didn't happen so ITV got it. Terrestrial TV numbers don't translate into PPV buys. Sky's position is that they are not going to pay over the odds for a 2 bout fight at 3.30am in the morning for a fight against someone like Pauli Mallignaggi. If it was Bradley, or perhaps even Maidana they maybe so. But Khan's PPV performance in the past hasn't exactly been astounding so you can understand their hesitance
Someone on twitter has accused him of being dropped in sparring by the look of it, which has set him off! Is he the easiest person to wind up ever? no manny or no other sparring partner has ever dropped me! In sparing iv near touched down Wat u guys on about, last time I got knocked down was 2 years ago. In a fight, since then I aint not even in sparring, 135 I killed myself making weight and it did effect me a lot, at my new fight 140 iv never even been wobbled or hurt or dropped last 2years Iv sparred with pacman plus many more, did really well or got the bettr. Its 18month since me and manny sparred. iv come on a million since Those who think iv been dropped in sparring ask freddie roach or the sparring partners even pacman! They will tell you the truth. they can't
Ring TV's Doug Fischer said he'd seen Khan getting rocked in the Wildcard on a few occasions, as has Max Boxing's Steve Kim. He's obviously a little fragile, but so what - it'll make his fights more interesting when he faces another puncher. He does seem very sensitive to any criticism.

Yeh, I made a thread about it on another forum. He made some interesting point, heres what he said. " Regarding Khans chin, I dont think its world-class and I dont think it will ever be. Fortunately, Khan has the physical tools and body dimensions to protect his chin. All he has to do is tuck that chin, work behind that long, fast jab of his and move his feet when necessary. Honestly, the only time Khan gets caught is when he gets too aggressive for his own good. I think eventually Khans shaky whiskers will cost him, but not until he faces the truly elite fighters of the 140- and 147-pound divisions. I believe his athletic ability and a stick-and-move style will serve him well against a lot of hard-hitters and fellow talents. And when it comes time for him to stand his ground and scrap, I think hell surprise a lot of fans. From what Ive seen at the Wild Card This content is protected , Khans got a lions heart. It doesnt always serve him. Ive seen him rocked by Abdulai Amidu while going toe to toe with the hard-punching Ghanaian, but Ive also seen Amidu wobbled by Khan. I realize gym wars are not the same thing as a prize fight, so who knows what well see when a top-level fighter forces Khan to fight rather than box? I am a Khan fan at times and have said he can do, but immature spoilt reactions like this make me want to see him sparked cold again. Duke is there to call it how he sees it, not kiss Amir's spoilt ass, Amir sounds like hes trying to get Duke sacked. Now Duke isn't that good a commentator but Amir still made amateur mistakes **** source though so who knows
