I can ignore him? Wow, if you show me how, me love you long tiime. I'm tired of making him look like a fool.
What makes you think they can? I'm interested in why you think MMA fighters can't learn elite striking skills but Boxers can learn elite MMA skills no problem?
Go to the User CP and then to Edit Ignore list under Settings and Options. I usually just ignore him the old fashioned way but sometimes his posts are so stupid I can't help but comment.
Hey, we're not too far off from that relative to where we were as little as 50 years ago. Only people that believe, truly believe, in racism of the strict definition kind are people who are dumber then a box of rocks. And, like HENDO, there is no hope for them. They're left behind.
I'm not a big MMA fan and certainly no expert but I would take David Haye's word as the truth on this one. "Believing you can be a star in the UFC just because you're good with your fists is like a cricketer expecting to win Wimbledon just because he's good at hitting a ball with a bat. " and "I've rolled around with MMA guys in the past - and even use British mixed martial artist James Zikic for sparring - and I know how hard it is to fight these guys. They are very physically strong and are very dangerous in the clinch and on the ground. Those are two positions that pro boxers are not used to. Also, despite always starting on my feet with these guys, I was finding myself taken to the mat eight times out of 10. That gives me a two in 10 chance of landing a hard punch and knocking my MMA opponent out."
Well, I haven't really seen any let's end the debate kind of threads, but many debate topic threads. Also, the main idea to end the discussion is the new idea that I came up with that I never really stated before that I added to the end of my OP. The moment that a boxer starts to learn any additional techniques that are not boxing oriented they cease to be pure boxers. They've now become MMAist. The old, "Well, if a boxer learns takedown defense, then he's fine!" Well, if he does that then he's not really just a boxer anymore. He's cross-trained and it's that cross training that helps him increase his chances of success. Otherwise, boxing alone gives you a pretty poor chance of having long term success in a mixed combat sport. I've never heard anyone bring that up in any discussion of this nature and it really kind of is an end point, so yeah, thought I'd bring it up.
