For all the people who had a legitimate and intelligent response, thank you.I only wish to inspire critical thinking.I haven't seen much but the last 6 Pacquiao fights and a few intriguing rounds from some earlier fights.I am a big fan of Pacquiao, though his fans and Arum are starting to irk me.I decided to study his record a bit and it jumped off of the page at me that he had not fought any African-Americans and indeed has only fought one black fighter in the punching bag from Ghana.I think it is necessary to ask these kinds of questions because above everything else, styles make fights. As well as little trivial facts such as more color means thicker skin because the melanin adds 1-2 microns of extra thickness to the skin which is why black fighters don't bleed as much other groups and ethnicities. This is indeed a science and a sweet science at that.I love boxing and everything detail that goes into a match-up,for all of you real lovers of boxing who gave great responses, thank you,we need high minded people like you who can have adult discussions without it degenerating into non-sense.

    Mayweather
    Bradley
    Alexander
    Judah
    Berto
Mosely (even today it would be a tough fight for Manny)

Anyway, Manny is surrounded, he'll never get out alive:hat

Yea....Manny doesn't have any rules, guidelines, contracts or regulations that stipulate that he has to face a certian fighter.. Will he be crucified like Jack was?:verysad Completely different senario.....Manny isn't racist...Manny isn't avoiding TOP LEVEL COMP. He's by far faced the hardest and most difficult challenges of ANY fighter in this era...and his resume supports that.

African American fighters are very good fighters but they don't dominate the sport as they once did. They are still very much in the mix but it's a very wide variety of fighters who come from all walks of life and countries that are the champions and who are dominating their divisions.

So NO......Manny doesn't need to fight a specific kind of fighter to secure a better legacy...it could help...with FLoyd and Floyd alone...maybe Paul Williams. But Manny's legacy is secure and one of the best of all time. Top 20 at least at the moment.

By the way.....love to see PAC fight Floyd, Paul, Tim, Devon, Nate, Zab.....actually anyone....Manny fights and with that comes excitment everytime....regardless of whom he is fighting.

Why does it matter? Manny still will go down as one of the greatest fighters with or without facing a "black" fighter. I will be glad to say I was around and into boxing during this time later in my life.

Pac is trying to make a fight with the best black fighter of his generation. Not his fault that chicken **** wants none.. Only an insignificant select few idiots will hold this racist gripe against Manny.

Its not the craziest thing in the world to ask. acknowledging race is not the same thing as being racist. The preponderance of the best all time fighters are black Americans. Pac's resume is soft compared to Floyd's possibly because he has not accepted the challenge of facing Americas best.

Hmm lets see he didn't fight Zahair Raheem when he beat Erik Moralas after Erik Moralas whip Pacman. Lets see Bradley, Alexander, Mosley , Williams and and of course "Money May" trust me he would get thru these fighters at all.

Actually you couldn't be further from the truth. Truth of the matter is Floyd's resume is fairly "WEAK" when considering the amount of ability, greatness and skills he has. His resume has 2 legit greats....other than that it consists on very good to good fighters. Manny's resume is legitimately GREAT.....which is on level with his greatness as a fighter. Most of the rationale behind Floyd being considered a "great" is based on his ability, skills and talent.....there is less emphasis on his resume b/c it doesn't match his greatness with regards to his actual ring ability.

If you really try to compare resumes between Floyd and Manny you are pissng up stream and in the wind. Not a productive way to spend your time debating something that is already a fact.....against your position on this topic.

I agree about asking. There is no harm assuming the TS can elaborate what he is really asking.
HOWEVER saying Pac's resume is 'soft' compared to PBF is absurd in so many levels.
First off, there is a general consensus among boxing writers and experts that Pac is more accomplished than PBF. Even if you disagree with that, describing it as "soft" at the very least is extreme; at the very worst - silly.
Second, if you know your boxing (I assume you do since you are making a judgment call regarding resumes) can you please name the supposed elite African-American fighter that Pac supposed to face. Other than PBF - no one. You might be able to argue Nate Campbell 2-3 years ago. That is it. The weight class Pac fights in are dominated by Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, and etc. And where he comes from are (obviously) Asians.

I didn't say Jack Dempsey was racist.I am definately not saying that Pacquiao is racist. That's beyond the pale for sure.African-American is as legitimate of an ethnic group as Mexicans. It's not race or even ethnicity. It's stock.African-Americans are a pretty good stock and to a large degree have made boxing what it is or really what it was. It's everything to do with style and attitude and far less about skin color.Jack Johnson and Muhammad Ali were not the same complexion, for that matter neither were MLK or Malcolm X.Yet they all fought for the people. We are not a "pure" race.We are a culture and ethnic group. We produce boxers different than Mexicans. So the legitimate question is can the "Mexicutioner" do those things to African-Americans.As boxing fans we should all wonder these things.I mean, does Floyd fight like a Mexican or Peurto Rican or Irishman or a European? No.He is a slick, smart and athletic African-American.You probably thought it sub-consciously but not consciously. We all say,"Manny has never fought anyone like Floyd",well yes,he's never fought an African-American.I get the sense that people around here are too politically correct which is to say it's ok to say Mexican fighter or British fighter but is not cool to say African-American.Where is the transgression? Was Sugar Ray Robinson not African-American?For whom did Ali fight? How about Jack Johnson?he clearly fought for black people as well.Hell,he fought to prove he was human and a man!Let's stop being pansies when someone say's African-American fighter,it is no different than saying Mexican fighter.I am only asking,"how would boxing historians look at Manny's career if he doesn't fight even one African-American,regardless of whether it is Mayweather or Bradley,Berto or Alexander,or possibly P.Williams"?
