as it stands right now, Pac is already higher than Floyd in most ATG lists. From this point then, Floyd needs the fight more.

Floyd. Pac has had his "challenges" where he was perceived to be in a tough fight or even an underdog. No one out there has really been considered a challenge for Floyd, reflected in the odds, except Pac. Also Pac ranks higher on ATG lists, he got fighter of the decade, if Floyd wants to prove something, he beats Pac.

Pacquiao has won fighter of the decade. In most observers' eyes, Manny is actually stretching already by fighting at welterweight. If he retired now, there is a good argument for him being placed among the greats. A Floyd fight is a bonus, like a dessert after a hearty meal. Win or lose against Floyd, his standing in boxing is set.

Floyd on the other hand, has made his unquestionable mark at 130, to some degree at lightweight. Were it not for the dominant Mosley win, his resume at the higher weights would have less of a leg to stand on. As it is in boxing, greater weight is always given on latest performance, and his Mosley win skews perspectives a lot. Finally, he took on a real challenge at welterweight, and delivered he also did.

But, Floyd should have been doing this since moving to welterweight four, five years ago. He should take on Pacquiao, and win or lose, the other top guys.

PBF. Cause if he doesn't fight Pac, his legacy will read like this:

I don't care what kinda skills the man has. If he doesn't show balls in a sport like boxing, what good is he? He a freakin JOKE!

Pac, he has an image to maintain as the man who fights all comers.

Floyd doesn't have that reputation to protect. Remember how everyone said he's too scared to fight Mosley? He beats him then all the excuses fly out.

I agree with the fight being vital for the good of the sport

but on the question, Pac's legacy is pretty much set. He was being compared to Henry Armstrong after the DLH massacre, and with what he's done since he will be a lock top 10 ATG 10-15 years from now, with or without Mayweather.

Mayweather, although you can't doubt his skill, is still to convince everyone he deserves to be ranked with the very best. A win over Pac can go along way to solidifying himself as a top ATG. So he definately needs Pac. He can beat Bradley, Alexander, Berto and Khan and it will still not add anything near to his legacy what a win over Pac could.

Don't forget most lineal titles in history, that's the most important one.

Also only fighter since Henry Armstrong to hold titles in 3 weight divisions within a year (and he's done it twice from 130-140 and 135-147)

And he's the only to have held titles in 4 weight divisions within 2 years (130-147 in 1 1/2 years)

His record is 5-1-1 (3KOs) against fellow legends MAB, Morales and Marquez and he has legendary knockouts over 140 king Hatton, welterweight champ Cotto and De La Hoya in his first fight abover 135 at welterweight.

    He just fought him, moron.:patsch

Anyways, you're exactly what I'm talking about. Floyd doesn't have his ego set as the man to take on all challengers. Pac is the one whose image is built up around that. People are so conditioned to Floyd's reputation that the excuses fly out after he beats whoever he was perceived to be ducking.

A few months ago you clowns were claiming he'll never get in the ring with Mosley, but now that Floyd has won Mosley is an old man now. This is the same Mosley that the great warrior Manny HGH Pacquiao OPENLY refused to fight, citing a reason that sounds like one $ would use, not enough $.

People are so caught up in their hate for Floyd, that they won't accept the fact that Emmanuel HGH Pacquiao's stock will drop after $ dominates that AZZ.

It's all good though. People claim to hate him and that he "cherrypicks". If you hate someone you tune in to see them lose. Well if he's fighting nobodies how the **** are they supposed to beat him? You're being pimped out of your money like the new ***** on the block.
