In the football hall of fame it is said that once everyone leaves and the lights go off, they form teams and play the best football ever.In baseball there was field of dreams, where all the greats formed teams and played baseball.Well in boxing, you are the ring by yourself. With premier ATG's like Henry Armstrong,Sugar Ray Robinson,Willie Pep and Sugar Ray Leonard, could a defenseless fighter defeat any of these guys or better yet, could he even claim to be in their class?please be civil.

Is this a hypothetical defenceless fighter or are you thinking of anyone specific, how defenceless are we talking?

Your question does not make any sense. Define the parameters of the term 'defenseless' because it could mean anything to anyone.
Can I make up the physical attributes of this hypothetical individual (6 feet tall, faster than a bullet, stronger than a gorilla, able to leap tall buildings, etc)?

Is the 'defenseless' fighter bound to weightclasses?

If he is at least A level and has a granite chin then maybe he has a chance.

    Its difficult.

Im of the opinion that a poor defense can be difference between winning and losing a close fight, see even if your having success landing if your catching the cleaner counters in return consistently you still might not win the round, much less the fight.

If a fighters does enough work over the coarse of 3 min, and! lands the cleaner punches he will generally win the round.

There are obviously no more specifications from the TS, but I think it's clear that if you have a C class fighter with a horrible defence, bad technic and bad generalship but a chin like Ali and a punch like Hide he would have a decent chance to win.

Yeah, i say its generally always going to look! like a more competitive fight than it is, even if he is getting hit at will, perhaps that kind of fighter would be more conducive to fighting in the 15 round era, if you can stay around long enough( in a 15 round fight) you are bound to have a chance to capitalize on fatigue at one point or another.

if a fighter from outer space is so fast he can run circles and tap the ATG's chin anytime he wants, he wouldn't need defense. doesn't even need power, just accumulation.
