It's overated at HW. As mentioned, he is very heavy handed and hands out beatings rather than clean ko's

I don't have time to deal with the rest of the post but you have shot your arguments credibility down somewhat by getting the result of this fight totally wrong but still using it to support your point. It was not a KO, at best it is what is recorded as (a TKO), but in reality it was an atrocious stoppage where Bonin was probably ahead on the cards and was showing no respect for Audley's punches and the ref stupidly jumped in and stopped it thinking Thomasz was hurt - he clearly was not. Audley was on his way to a points loss as far as most observers were concerned, and he couldn't have pulled out a KO if he had 15 rounds.

Don't let the facts get in the way of a good argument eh?

Okay, so give yours. Why do you think Ruiz has a good or great chin? My guess: solely based on his performance against Haye. Again, that was my point. Before he put on a good show against Haye, no one would have ever said that Ruiz had an iron chin....and that what prompted me to create this thread. I don' think Ruiz could ever take a punch. And I have no idea at all if Valuev can take a punch since he never faced a puncher. THerefore, I am highly sceptical of Haye's punching power at heavy.

Is his power overrated? No. Why would it be? You could maybe say it was overrated if people were to compare it to Tyson...

He's not the hardest hitter up at Heavy, but I'd say he was the most explosive. The guy hits hard, it's as simple as that...no matter what weight class he is in!!

Wow! That's what you got from this post? That I mistakenly labelled the Bonin loss as a KO and not a TKO? Readin comprehension is not your strong suit, is it?

I have rather good reading comprehension skills thank you very much. I understood perfectly well what you were trying to say, and what your overall point was, but when your first piece of 'evidence' you provide is incorrect it damages your whole argument.

You implied that Haye only KOed someone that had been KOed by Audley before, but in reality Bonin had never been knocked out before the Haye fight and he was beating Audley by most people accounts when he got a typical early stoppage loss due to the hometown referee.

I disagree with part of your post, I call you out on it...but you resort to insults. Why lower yourself to that? You could have easily have just said it was a typo and corrected it, admitted that you had forgotten how the fight really went, hadn't actually seen the fight, or even just looked up the result on boxrec to try and bolster your argument....and then ask me what I thought about the rest of your post, but instead you resort to insults?

If you want an honest discussion on the topic then you have to be prepared to accept when you have made a mistake. I clearly stated that I did not have time to deal with your whole post in the same manner and comment on all of your statements, yet you take that as me missing the point of your post. Isn't that an issue with your reading comprehension?;)

I did not see the Audley vs. Bonin fight. Few people outside the UK have. So, I will defer to your recollection of the stoppage. Again, if you want to argue that Bonin was a significant knockout victory for Haye and that it proves that he is a big puncher at heavy, that would be more in keeping with the sprit and the point of the original post.

The power is not over rated he is just a bad finisher mostly due to his getting wild and over anxious not enough jab not enough body needs patience

hell yeah haye can punch it aint decapitating power but it gets the job done with his speed.

wlad and haye have different kind of power hayes is fast and explosive

whereas wlad hits you and it completely demortaslises you

Haye hits very hard but i don't think he has Tyson, Shavers, Forman type power like a few people do.

As for Ruiz and Valuev's chin, we really don't know for sure. Getting sparked by Tua or floored by Golota is no disgrace and just because you have avoided the really big hitters does not necessarily mean you have a weak chin.

Whilst we do not fully know the toughness of their respective chins i think it is fair to say that they are both decent.

It's pretty clear that Erik Morales had an iron chin, but Pacquiao knocked him down LOADS of times. Plus, Roy couldn't knock Ruiz down. (I don't buy that Roy lost his power moving up to heavyweight)

Making Valuev wobble is something you shouldnt dismiss. You say he hasnt proved to have a good chin but common sense and science point towards him being a hugely hard man to wobble. He was 7 stone more than haye was that night. Think about it. Hes in another weight Class. Thats like Mosley wobbling Adamek or something. Think about it do middleweights generally take a better punch than featherweights? Of course they do. So Valuev is in a weightclass of his own so logic says he has a great chin because he size is so great , his bone structure and frame are alien. I would say its a massive feat by Haye to wobble him with a punch that wasnt even fully clean. I say Haye has got great power.

It is overrated in the sense that he is promoted as some kind one punch KO second coming of Tyson, if you beleive that, yes you are overrrating his punching prowess. He hits hard, but not top notch heavyweight hard. His speed causes alot of the HW KD's he has BUT HE HAS YET TO TRULY "Knock out" a HW, not even Bonin, they all get up on steady legs. Name one HW Haye has truly "knocked out", hell even Enzo at cruiser with a glass jaw was on his feet. BK is right, if you think like he is promoted then it is overrated, just like Arreola.:deal
