Holmes, Ali, Foreman (50-50). Tyson - Vitali is about 50-50 aswell. Holmes, Ali and Lewis are the only ones who I would favour over Vitali.
Hard to measure training methods and fitness and nutrition and sports technology is so more advanced now......yet boxers back then were a bit more natural and fought more....styles have evolved since. Its like sayin a 50's NFL team that didnt pass and only ran could beat the super bowl saints now.
you answered your own question. lewis was the only and last champ he fought and lost to you could ask that question IF steroidchko would have beaten lewis. coz til now he done nothing worthy to compare him other great boxers in the past so i say he loses to every champ in every era til lewis retirement. its very logical, dont you think?
That is all understood, but Vitali is nothing special. Holmes, Ali, Foreman, and even Ron Lyle would beat him. He lost to Lewis who was not even at 100%. Him and his brother are just beating up on a very weak HW era. Nutrition or no nutrition, Foreman catches you, you are going to sleep.
Liston, Louis, Ali, Norton, Foreman, Cooney, Reddick, Holyfield, Shavers, Moorer, Holmes, Tyson (with platform shoes), Prime Mercer. Ike Iabucchi would have murdered either sister in the ring.
louis, ali, liston, foreman, lewis, johnson, fitzsimmons, dempsey, langford, frazier, jeffries, tunney, tyson(if doesn't flake out), maybe a couple others.
lots of people. Lewis, holmes, Ali, Liston, foreman, Marciano, Dempsey, tyson, Holyfield, wladimir, Louis, and Frazier.
Marciano, Dempsey?Damn, people, what are you smoking? Those guys are not even half as strong and half as tall. Fitzsimmons, Johnson? You must be kidding. Go back to your history forum... Langford? Would have been a lhw or a cruiser nowadays. Just as Tunney I doubt that Norton could handle a prime Vit. Moorer? What a joke. I think prime Foreman, Holmes,Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis and Frazier would have given Vitali problems. An untrained Lennox already did.
Not that I rate Vitali in the top10, but h2h he's a monster and just too much for most old timers. Even Frazier says pre-70s heavyweights are great but can't compare physically, and its true.
