No, you listed five JWWs and WWs. Bald_Head_Slick's claim was regarding the weights below.

This is stupid. Manny has fought and beaten the best fighters of MANY weight classes. He beat the BEST!!!! Doesn't that count for anything? Oh, I'm sorry, he didn't fight any African-Americans. So, what contender in all of the weight classes that he has fought in was African-American? Of course Floyd Mayweather is, but Manny is still relatively new to welterweight and he wants to fight him. You can't compare the situation with Jack Demsey's for a couple of reasons. One, Jack Dempsey had a worthy #1 contender in Harry Wills. Dempsey also wouldn't fight Harry Greb who was a white man. Dempsey just wasn't much of a fighting champion. Two, Dempsey fought black fighters in his career, just not as champion. Gene Tunney on the other hand, never fought a black fighter. Does that make Gene a bad fighter? Of course not! Are African-American fighters supposed to be superior? Someone should tell the many great champions of other races then, because they apparently didn't get the memo.

I give Pac full credit for what he did 135 and down. Now he has a chance to fight them because he's at a weight that has them and they're elite. He should fight atleast 1 or 2 before retiring.

I really only consider Mayweather and Mosley elites. With May probably being the only truly great one right now.

Berto had a life and death struggle with Collazo - arguable he lost - like Cotto did with Clottey. Difference is that Cotto had proven himself in past victories and was perceived as a better fighter than Berto regardless. While not as fast, he's more technically capable. Nothing's changed my opinion on Berto since. I don't see that as a duck by Pac at all...and I'd put Clottey on the same level as Andre. Pac's faced more skilled/better opponents than Berto since his 112 pound days. I don't think they see him as some sort of stylistic threat.

You can't really blame Pac for not fighting Alexander. At the time of Pac's last fight, his only real notable win was over Junior Witter. If he was going to fight one of the better 140 pounders at that time, it should have been Bradley. But he has no real interest in moving down to 140 again. Now if Pac fights Margo, I'll be pissed off...and would much rather him face Devon, whos a much more worthy challenger at this point in time.

Imo, the only two ELITE African-American fighters Pacquiao (and/or Top Rank) has clearly avoided or steered around are Mayweather and Mosley (who would have been the ideal fight legacy-wise instead of Cotto).

Your talking about right now ? Jesus Christ you guys are pathetic ... You make cases and I just saw you agree with someone who said PAC has always been avoiding these great black fighters.

Bradley and Alexander are no namers to the general public , and the african black guy that he fought , would destroy Bradley or alxander at 147. Mosley just lost to pbf ... And manny Wants to fight PBF next , what more do you want ? Your racial bias blinds you from a great deal

I can't believe people are saying give me names of Afr-Am boxers Manny should have fought. You guys are really missing the point.Ali,Robinson and Tyson all lost to guys no one expected them to lose to.So did Tito,Oscar and JCC.The point is that he hasn't fought particular styles of fight or anyone from an entire ethnic group that produced most of David Duke and Rush Limbaugh's favorite fighters, and most of your favorite fighters too, even if this thread is uncomfortable. He fought Oscar-ethnicity Mexican,Morales-ethnicity Mexican. He has fought Mexicans by way of ethnicity and nationality. He has not however fought any really slick boxers or anyone from the ethnic group that all but single-handedly created that style. So it is legitimate to ask,"could the "Mexicutioner" retire without facing even a single African American?"

You're a ****ing idiot to connect race and fighting style.. If the black style is so good ? Then why are they almost non-exsistent in the lower weights where pacman fought . You're talking out of your ass

But then the question again is 'why'?

Why specifically go out of your way to fight someone from one ethnic group who happens to be a native of one country?

There's no logic to it. Fight the best fights that can be made at the time. Who gives a **** what combination of passport and skin colour they have?

Race is a factor, but it is not the end all be all. Size combined with the style is also. To note difference in fighting temperaments and physical tool sets that happens to be common to a "school" of boxing that happens to be practiced by a certain nationality is NOT discrediting other fighters.

There are TONS of young American Mexican fighters fighting with a DISTINCTLY American fighting style now. In 15 years I am sure that the school will be "American" and associated less with American Blacks.

Your comparison of higher weights to lower weights is just kind of blah. OK they were technicians, but they were also 20-37 lbs lighter.

So the issue is the lead up 135, 140, and now the strangeness surrounding the Mayweather mess.

    Note:

-- Nobody is mentioning Berto as elite. Berto is just "there" and decently quick.
-- Bradley is solid, but does not have as much experience. It would be a great scalp though considering he is #1 and Pac "has to work so hard to keep on the weight".
