Khan's next opponent is likely to be Casaayor/Katsidis

Haha you'd defend him fighting Ivan Calderon lets be honest. Katsidis isnt so bad but lets not pretend that Casamayor is anything other than a crap fight.

 

Casamayor would be ****. Another counterpuncher that would be at a stylistic disadvantage and is old and shop worn.

I think we want to see him in with somebody that puts the pressure on.

 

I'm not going to lie, the Casamayor isn't a good fight, but on a 'stay busy' fight where he wasn't going to fight anyway, I don't really give a ****.

And Katsidis is taller than Bradley and is the same as Alexander so I don't see why people have that much of a problem with him. Katsidis easily has enough power to test Khan.

 

I didnt say i would rather see him in there with Kotelnik. I'd actually rather see him in there with Ortiz rather than Casa, at least he is a LWW. On a previous thread i also slagged Devon off for taking that fight as Kotelnik's last fight was a virtual shutout.

 

Yes, but I'm realistic enough to know that me sitting behind my keyboard reeling off a personal wish list of Bradley then Alexander etc. isn't going to make these fights happen.

As it is the 31st July date is short notice, with the angle of the British public having seen Kats walk through Mitchell, a Khan-Katisdis fight is interesting and will sell well in the UK.

The JMM-Diaz winner is a grey area, theres clearly time to get one of the big names at 140 sorted out in that timescale but if JMM wins (as I expect him to) then that again in a decent, if not ideal, fight for Khan to take.


Boxers careers almost never almost never coincide exactly with the plans that fans on the forums lay out for them. As long as the fights look interesting I've stopped getting annoyed that a fighters wern't following my list of opponents and Khan-Kats and Khan-JMM are both interesting enough for me for the time being.

 

I hope Katsidis agrees to this fight!

 

I'm not doubting Casa is a bad fight. Even as a big fan, I realise that. But Ortiz-Khan will never happen in the near future. GBP will never let them two near each other until they're at least PPV status if they get there (as I heard them say in a vid).

But I think people should weigh out that there aren't many options and Katsidis is a big name in the UK and yes he is a lightweight but is taller than Bradley and has more power and pressure. I honestly don't see the problem with the fight.

 

To be honest the Katsidis fight wouldnt be too big a problem for me, i could live with that as he could test his chin (assuming he carries his power up which i dont think will be too big a problem). But my problem is that i dont see Kats moving up in weight before fighting JJM/Diaz first as he worked hard to get his interim belt. If this is the case, Kahn will be fighting Casa according to GBP. Thats simply not good enough for me

 

No argument that Casa is a poor choice. I'll wait until the fight is announced before I start with the criticism though.

If the fight is made and Kahn wins, he has to fight a top light welter IMO, not JMM. He said he wants to unify the division, so it will make no sense fighting JMM. After July all the big guns become avaliable, so GBP should work to secure a fight with 1 of them.

 

I doubt Casa has enough left in the tank at this stage in his career to defeat Khan. It would be a pretty said spectacle, should he be stopped. But if he could go the distance and look ok, and so long as he gets a nice pay day, I wouldn't mind seeing the fight.

 

Err, Khan wants a tournament where he's fighting the weakest guy in it from the get go? So what.

Why doesn't he fight Alexander, instead of saying Bradley should be fighting him?

Katsidis would be really good, Casa would be really really ****. Let's hope they get it right.

 

Would have preferred Ortiz but Cass or Katsidis should still be entertaining.
