Katsidis is a good opponent to prepare yourself for a Maidana. He's an aggressive pressure fighter (the type that we believe is Khan's worst type of opponent), but with inferior size which will make it that little bit safer. For a quick warm up with little rest, I think this fight is more than adequate, especially when you consider the high KO ratio of Katsidis. It's a fight the fans shouldn't really complain about, seeing as though it was only the other week Khan fought in an 11 rounder. The fact that he wants to remain busy, is something we should welcome.

    But Casamayor? Wtf

Katsidis would have Khan up at nights as soon as the build up started. Bet on Casamayor because he's completely past it and shot to ****!

how many fights at JrWW has Khan had? I don't think fighting a LW is the end of the world for an up and coming fighter who has just recently moved up from LW to JrWW.

Katsidis has fought at 140lb plenty of times and Khan himself was fighting at 135 last yr.

will be Joel then, he's shot, small and doesn't hit that hard.

when is Con gonna step up? His career is all smoke and mirrors.

loks like gb r feeding him good names that r shot and at the lighter weight.

they r tryng to make him the next oscar de la hoya. if he beats bradley and alexander then he may well do it. i just dnt see him campaigning succesfully in more than 3 weight classes

Win those fights in addition to Malignaggi and he'd probably end up a strong contender for fighter of 2010. Pretty rare these days for a fighter to face three competetive opponents within the same year.

That said, the Pac-May winner will probably win the award.

Casamayor is about shot but he's still a better opponent than I thought Khan would face if the fight does happen. Even this Casamayor is a better option than Prescott, which is who I still think might get the fight. I see Golden Boy is talking about putting Khan's fight on the ppv broadacast with JMM-Diaz, which would be a smart move. But they said they would do the same with Haye-Ruiz being added to the Jones-Hopkins fight and then decided not to so I don't see this fight being on the show either.

Katsidis is an interesting fight. Even with Katsidis moving up, this isn't easy for Kahn. You can't really run away for 12 rounds from a Katsidis type of fighter unless you either are good on the inside, which Kahn definitely isn't (he's worse than Mitchell in that respect, only that he knows how to clinch) or you have the power to keep your opponent at bay. Which Kahn has IMO, but still, it's an interesting fight.

Potentially harder than Maidana. I know Maidana is a tremendous puncher, but Katsidis has much better movement and good power. Mitchell never had a bad chin and he got demolished.
