Is Haye's Punching Power at Heavyweight Massively Overrated?

Haye does make alot of fighters do the chicken dance valuevs was simalar to enzo macs chicken dance.

 

He has huge power. Gave ruiz a first class beating and hurt that big gaint in the last round and koed barrett( means nothing) If he lands with anything on your chin, there a chance your sleeping unless your tua

 

Its more about not seeing the punches coming , thats how he got Ruiz in the first hes a hard-quick puncher. His power isnt Liston or Foreman like but his hands are much faster than theirs were so he can get to you before you really see it coming.

Wlad hits harder I would imagine but not as quickly.

Thats why Haye tends to hurt guys early before they get their eye in and why Wlad tends to wear guys down with heavy shots they cansee coming so brace for it but abviously even bracing for them you can only take so many

 

after watching valuev nearly tumble and stagger around dizzy that must prove he has good power.

 

I think Haye's power is rated pretty fairly. If you don't listen to the hypesters, I think people are fair. Most recognise he has very good power, and speed, and together that's a lethal combination and will trouble any heavyweight out there.

Can we possibly leave it at that on this issue?

His power looks good,and he is very fast.Most heavyweights are not used to being hit that fast.Ruiz is a solid fighter and he found the speed and power of Haye too much.

 

Haye has explosive power, great power at heavyweight. If you doubt that then come down to his local gym and let him give you a right hand to the face, and then when you wake up weeks later you can post the results of your research on this forum.

I think that he does have a fair amount of power and can certainly hurt a lot of heavy weights, but I'm not sure that I'd rate him as an elite puncher in that class. He seems to have lost some power in the move up.. Sure he was one of the few guys to ever stop Ruiz, but John was 38 years old, hadn't done much of note in recent years, and never faced that many punchers to begin with. Who knows. Haye is still a question mark to me...

 

He's powerful, that's for sure. But I don't think he's a great finisher - five knockdowns vs Barrett and four vs Ruiz. He's yet to prove he can score a clean one-punch KO at Heavyweight, all his heavyweight knockouts at a world-class level so far have been cumulative.

Prime Ruiz would've been blasted out in seconds by Prime Tyson, just like Prime Tua did...

Haye took bloody ages to finish Shot Old Ruiz off, despite hitting him with his best bombs every round.

Simply put, Haye hits very hard, but he doesn't have Atomic-Power like Iron Mike.

 

I think you are wrong. You can always pick apart a boxers resume by highlighting the lowest point of their opponents careers. It has been done to death, and it is not a valid way of argumentation :nut
