This line of reasoning has been debunked countless times. Go read other threads on the subject.

Every thread descends into nonsense anyway, no point discussing this topic sensibly anymore.:good

This will be the widely held view until Floyd actually does it. Then things will change and people will say Martinez has: no head movement, bad punching technique, started boxing too late, has been through too many wars, etc..

i dont understand that arguement. What has changed? When you have 2 people that have different stances, you expect one to give way or agree to a compromise, pac has given way now floyd is changing his stance. It was good for him before but it isn't now. I think floyd sees pac as a real threat. What other reason is there. He does not want the fight. His demands are making it perfectly obvious.

I'll ask you the same question I asked Marnoff though. What's your motivation for watching boxing? Is it to see the best fighting the best or for one fighter to earn lots of money? Why do you hold Pacquiao in such contempt?

Yep. It's plain as day. Pre-Mosley, it was unreal the amount of people who said, "I don't believe Floyd will actually fight Mosley until I see them in the ring together." Nowadays they try to act like that wasn't their view and instead Mosley is old. Heh, try again. Mosley was and is a very dangerous fighter, and one Roach wouldn't let Pacquiao face.

Don't even bother with them, it's the same guys over and over. Not fans of the sport, not interested in seeing the best fight the best, and it's quite evident from their comments and stance. No one has yet answered my question as to what Floyd Mayweather has done since May.02 to get this fight done? Floyd is all about supposedly saving the sport of boxing of olympic style testing, but in the same breath makes ridiculous demands to ensure the fight everyone in the general public wants to see doesn't get made. Yet another black eye for the sport.

I want Floyd and Pacquiao to fight. Period.

That said, so many people seem to not understand how negotiations work. Boxing is a business (cue some ****** quoting my post with the reply, "I don't give a ****! Fighters should just fight!") and when I see ignorant posters suggesting Pacquiao is on equal footing with Floyd in terms of getting the fight made, I correct them. Or, when I see people suggesting Floyd is bound to the 14-day offer that Pacquiao declined, as if offers go on indefinitely into the future, I correct that misguided belief as well.

This post is a prime example of someone not understanding the situation. My recommendation to artofwar: Go read the earlier posts in the thread. It's all explained how the situation now is not the same as the situation is December 2009 or thereabouts. Pacquiao rejected Floyd's terms, and so those were failed negotiations. Things changed since.

But you're an expert, I suppose. Too many people on this forum think they know something. If they did, they'd have a job in boxing and not be talking **** from a computer. The two best and most popular fighters should be splitting this purse even and fighting to the rules every other fighter does.

Same as the PED ****, I owned some chump the other day who was trying to talk like he knew about testing. I searched his posts and, before December, he'd made exactly one post on the subject of PEDs in boxing.

Nope, I just hope you guys stick around afterwards.

As for my motivation for watching boxing, I love boxing. I love watching the best fight the best and breaking down style match-ups before fights occur. I don't "care" how much money Floyd makes, but to act like money doesn't have a place in the business of boxing in terms of negotiations between fighters would be... pointless. When the topic comes up, I share my view and shed light for those who don't know how things operate.
