    1. yes, you have misunderstood

    2. we don't know what pac or floyd are saying, as they are not negotiating through the media. the quote that the TS used is at least 4 months old.

    1. Well this is your opinion, but the fact is, most boxing writers, magazines, and the general boxing community disagree and have awarded the mythical p4p #1 status to Manny.

    2. Floyd may not care about ABC belts, but you can be damn sure he cares about being considered the best in the sport and p4p #1. Of course, this is only my opinion as well.

3 & 4. Money is not the only factor in negotiations like these. It seems that you want to pretend it is, and it certainly is very relevent, but it is by no means the end-all and be-all of determining a purse split. What about the fact that, typically, the champion is the one who gets the lion's share? Is Pac not the "champion" in the sense that he is p4p #1 and Floyd isn't?

Or the fact that he won fighter of the decade, which you seem to want to downplay, that is a major indicator that he is generally held in higher esteem within the boxing community then Floyd. Does this not play into negotiations? Floys is the one that needs Manny, more than the other way around.

Boxing has certainly become much more of a "business" then it used to be, but it is still a sport too. Manny is #1, therefore Floyd should not necessarily get the lion's share based on PPV numbers alone. Easy.

Well hey man, he may well be, but he is the one that needs to prove it and get it back if he wants it now.

You don't think he has to beat the current p4p #1 to get it?

Just seems to me that they both bring different things to the table. Floyd is proven to be the bigger PPV draw. Manny is p4p #1 and brings fighter of the decade honors.

50-50. Get er done. It's the fair and correct way to make rthis damn fight happen already.

Personally, I dont like Mayweather or his fans. Same thing with Pac and his fans. If it makes the fight happen, take the ****ing tests. My problem with it is this...Im having a hard time taking Mayweathers side on this being its something he just started doing. Suddenly he wants to clean up the sport of boxing? My ass. You cant just up and say ok, all of a sudden I want you to take random blood tests that arent required by the commissions to fight me. Even though you have never tested positive before and there has never been any proof. Then have people defend you for it? Of course he did it against Mosley, he had to. How stupid would he look if he made Pac do it but not Mosley? He either doesnt want the fight, or he's acting like a ****ing baby trying to get HIS way.

Bigger purse I can understand, he's the bigger draw with PPV numbers, thats fine. 55-45, 60-40 whatever. He's just being a pain in the ass with the non commission required blood testing. He never required it before, so why now?

As far as pac goes, he's being just as big of a ***** with all of his excuses. Just take the ****ing test, let the little ***** have his way and then beat the **** out of him, or at least try. Personally I think Mayweather wins by mid round stoppage or UD anyway.

Im tired of seeing every thread on esb about a new quote and then *****s and *******s defending Floyd and Pac to no end stating the same regurgitated bull**** over and over again.

Either way, make the ****ing fight happens so one of these groups of nuthuggers will finally shut the hell up.

    that's not how it works

quite frankly, if pac goes on and puts up a stinkfest against margo and floyd moves up and puts a clinic on martinez, you can be rest assured, that floyd would be p4p #1 in almost every poll (official sports writers, not fans)

that is only one situation where there would be almost a unanimous opinion and they wouldn't have fought

p4p in not a real title, and p4p fighter dont have to fight each other

fact is, even if they do fight, and floyd wins, the haters will just say pac isnt a real ww and he should still be the #1 p4p

Well I'll have to go do some homework, but I was under the impression that the majority of boxing writers, and Ring magazine have Pac as the #1.

Anyone else care to chime in?

Out of the 23 writers for yahoo sports, their boxing section has Floyd as the majority number 1.
