Joe is not underrated, he was the best Fighter in his region (SMW). If he was American he would have probably played baseball, tennis or badminton. The way he slapped his punches he should have had a bat or a racket in his hands

 

That was super fu(king hype job Lacy! And yes if you get slapped enough and hard enough your face will get swollen! Do not get me wrong Joe is a good fighter, but only a regional fighter who made his name on fighters who made their names by fighting in their region.

He is overrated, not underrated. I've never seen an American champion retire with such a **** poor resume. I don't think an American titlist can get away with 20 defenses against bums and doormen and then retire with enough money to live. The IRS rides guys too hard and American fans won't tolerate so many **** poor set up fights and the bad judging/officiating that is the norm at the upper level in GB and Germany.

 

Calzaghe won't have 46-0 record had he been an American.

I hate questions like this...

People forget that Roy, not counting the DQ in a fight he was winning, went 50-0 with titles from MW to HW, and dropped back down to LHW to get the title back in the very next fight, still got **** on in America by many critics before he was ever beat.

I don't understand why people think Calzahge would be any different. It would probably be worse had he been American.

 

Yes, he's comp would be up there if he was American. He would been forced to fight the best here. Like Jones, Toney, Bhop, and if he went to LHW. Then he would have to fight a prime Montell Griffin, Antiono Tarver, Eric Harding, Glen Johnson. If he had did the impossible and fought and beat these great/good fighters (which I doubt so seriosly) than he would have been the don of boxing.

 

Calzaghe is hugely overrated and i don't think he would be poplular if he was American, i don't think his style would go down well with the fans.

Being American wouldnt have changed the Comp at 168 between 97-07.

He would have got the Ring Cover at least 5 times though, been an HBO regular since his 10th fight and would have been on the Ring's P4P list sooner. Thats it.
