Really? Is Floyd this popular or well known in the UK? Is PPV big in the UK? I actually wouldn´t know Maywether, if I wouldn´t follow boxing on net like here on ESB. He has no TV exposure in Germany (where I´m from). There is hardly any PPV in Germany, so if you want to be known in Germany you have to be on regular TV. And sadly there is no Floyd, Pac, Hatton, Cotto, on regular TV, only if they fight german based fighters. Its sad, Boxing in Germany is somewhat mainstream with the Klits and AA etc. but big stars like Floyd or Pac are hardly known. Some know ODLH cause he fought Sturm, but that´s about it. :?
Yea Floyd is really big in UK, he gets alot of exposure on Skysports (the main sports news show). They love him, even my friends who don't even follow boxing at all know who he is and to a lesser extent they know Pac. But mostly Haye, Floyd, Hatton who they know.
I'm English and I've never known anyone who knew Mayweather as anything other than a bloke Hatton fought once. My Grandad was a big fight fan and couldn't even remember his name, it usually ended up as "Merryweather". There's no way anyone other than a British fighter sells 60,000 tickets in this country.
Impressive IF true. Boxing shouldn't be held in football stadiums. You can't see **** all and it's not good enough to say I was there. I want more for my money.
I meant a big stadium/venue that hosts boxing fights. I dont know of Japan ever having held a fight in a stadium before. I could be wrong.
The majority of these stadiums in Germany don't have a history of being used for boxing fights either, but since they can sell that many tickets they have become the perfect location for hosting cards. If they could sell that many tickets in Japan(which I'm gonna guess that maybe Nishioka vs Hasagawa could ?) then I reckon they'd look towards a soccer or baseball stadium to hold it.
Gate numbers lol... So hopefully you won't be too pissed off when Floyd ask's for more money lol. This was a practice run for you lol...because Floyd's numbers don't lie either, and neither do these videos: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSI-TnZD2LY&feature=related[/ame] This content is protected
I don't see why not, they sold 70,000+ tickets at Wembley to watch some NFL match, a World class boxer would sell that out easily with enough promotion. Look at Khan's attendance for the Barrera fight and then for the following fight for a World title, the people who I went with and a few lads we got talking to there all came out to see Barrera.
