I think my main gripe is not that other sports are more popular i can accept that but proportionately some sports get waay more time than they should and boxing is almost completely left out especially on the bbc.

Football: i dont think is over exposed
Rugby: same again about right for its popularity
Cricket: Far too much coverage for the popularity of the sport often spanning over days
Formula 1: Probably punching above its weight but i can accept that there is a core of fans there
Golf: Far too much coverage for its popularity again often lasting weeks on tournaments with little British involvement
    Tennis: Same as above
Athletics: I actually like athletics and i think its does about ok with Olympics etc
Snooker: There is a popularity for the sport but too many tournaments are shown for its comparitive popularity
Moto GP: Complete niche doesnt deserve any exposure
Darts: Again complete niche but has been marketed well and is quite popular but still too much airtime
Cycling: Probably about right for our current prowess in the sport
Horse Racing: too much should be grand national and cheltenham only
Bowls and other niche sports that are less deserving are picked up from time to time for world championships etc when Boxing world title fights involving British fighters arent

    I agree......

When i watch Sky Sports news, i actually don't understand why it gets so much attention.

Nobody goes to any of the matches, the crowds are always empty in most of the leagues, accept for maybe the top top leagues.

I don't even know if they have leagues, i don't have a ****ing clue.

Some kid was on Sky Sports News the other week, for breaking some kind of record.

A ****ing school kid, and he was only playing for his ****ing school in some **** league.........seemed like a nice lad, but throughtout the day he developed into a ****ing twat.

Maybe it gets some more exposure because, some dickheads think it's a national sport.

Its not a national sport anymore, its not ingrained in are culture anymore.

And people need to ****ing understand.

Some nobhead in the gay ass Eastside Lounge the other day made a topic saying...

    "Get in there England"

    Regarding the world cup cricket.

No wonder we are a nation of loosers sometimes.

Anyone who says rugby and cricket can **** off

Motor sports, horse racing and football all get too much attention.

IMO rugby league should get way more attention - the greatest team sport there is :yep

I disagree with horse racing mate, thats a pretty popular sport. The fact it can support 2 dedicated channels in addition to the BBC1 and Channel 4 content means the money/ interest is there.

I suppose you also have to factor in the relative cost of sports to broadcasters vs how many people will watch. I'd imagine world championship bowls costs the broadcasters peanuts but there are a lot of old timers sitting in the house during the day who will tune in and watch it whereas boxing will be more exspensive and may not bring in that many more people unless its a massive fight .

Horse racing is purely for the betting though not a sport as such its completely revolves around betting wheras usually betting revolves around the sport

It's a matter of personal choice.... I can't bear watching it on the telly, though it's good for a day out :yep

I'm not too fussed for darts and snooker, they are only really on when the world championships are taking place.....

I like watching athletics and tennis, so they can stay :yep

Theres plenty of it to cover as well. Most days there are 4-6 meetings with 5-6 races each.
