Aside from springin' a leak from scar tissue, can't see any way Cotto can lose to Foreman. He's certainly not gonna get KO'd.

There is another possibility, though, Cotto might get whiplash watchin' Foreman zip from one side of the ring to the other.

Foreman's not lackin' balls or a pesky jab; it's just not in him to take Cotto out of his comfort zone. If he can't do that, Cotto will hunt him down.

Manueverability, If Cotto tries to box with him like he has been trying to do with fighters recently, he is going to get beat IMO. If he does his relentless bone-grinder pressure fighter routine he has a good chance of cutting the ring off getting inside and fighting his fight. Other wise Foreman can dance around him and keep him off balance with the jab,.

not sure if cotto can bully at 154, and he hasn't been sitting on his punches as is...foreman could outpoint him

Foreman aint strong though, and even on the inside Cotto is the much better inside fighter so even if he couldnt 'bully' Foreman he stills win the inside battle.

So far what we've seen from Cotto in his fights against the likes of Pacquiao, Clottey, Margarito and Mosley is that he is glaringly vulnerable to straights and uppercuts. Using those tools, he's appeared a lot easier to push back as the fight wears on, and once he gets pushed back, he doesn't seem to be able to fight well on his bike toward the second half of the fight.

Unless Steward has fixed these vulnerabilities, Foreman has a chance if he fights smart for the first half and starts putting pressure with straights and uppercuts during the second half of the fight to possibly a close decision.

I'm still going with Cotto, though. He's a decent counter puncher, which I think could be a big strength that wins him this fight.

Yuri's a text book standup boxer, GP, with springs in his legs 'n stamina to burn, but he's sorely lacking your temperament to mix-it. He's got the whole arsenal, but only shows it sparring.

You seen him in the gym?

Maybe the temperment to mix it up would be the wrong thing in this fight.

In your wildest imagination, r, can you imagine Foreman pushing Cotto back. It's not in his DNA.

  13. Yuri is a better puncher than he's given credit for, but he has openly admitted he doesn't want to 'hurt' anyone in the ring. Take that for what it's worth. This is no sure thing for Cotto though.

I predict Cotto looks exactly the same as he always does; regardless of having Steward training him as of late. Miguel has got to get to Yuri's body early and try to slow him down.

I began with a "no way in hell Yuri Foreman beats Cotto" perspective. Then I dug a little deeper and concluded, he's not as bad as you think. He's actually pretty good and he's very crafty. He's got a quick jab that has some snap.

The scenario in which he wins is that he frustrates and confuses Cotto early and then runs around the ring, stick and move for the next 10 rounds. He will have no qualms whatsoever holding and maneuvering around the ring.

Cotto bullied people at 140 and he bullied Zab Judah but can he bully at 154?

Still, likely scenario is the fight is close but judges not willing to score a fight for a guy who held and moved in front of 50,000 fans at Yankee stadium, most of whom cheering for Cotto.

Heard that from guys that have watched him spar in Brooklyn, LS, but never seen him plant his feet in a bout. If he hasn't got anything to discourage Cotto, he'll get run over when he stops sprinting.
