1. What a waste of 25 bucks. Horrendous fight. Horrible. 2. Vitali has footwork like the tin mans 3. Vitali is old and slow. His below average technique has actually regressed. 4. Sosnowski showed a lot of heart, but clearly the man does not have any boxing skill. 5. Why couldn't Vitali just throw the right hands he did in round 10, back in round 1? Would have saved boxing fans 30 minutes of headaches. 6. I actually scored 1 clear round for the Dragon. So much for the "He never loses rounds" arguement. 7. I think there is a good reason Haye would rather fight Vitali than Wlad. We saw it tonight. Haye with his speed, power, youthfulness has a very good chance to beat Vitali. Vitali clearly does not like pressure, and speed, at this point. 8. I hope we never have to see something like that again. :good
I have no idea what we just watched, it was weird all round. Vitali seems so slow nowadays and has his hands so low...I can see Haye causing him some problems if they fight. Why that guy was in there with Vitali I'll never know....he showed heart but not much else.
Vitali wasn't at his best tonight....I don't want to say it was because he's gotten old just yet though. It could be that he didn't have the greatest motivation fighting a guy like Sosnowski and it would've been hard to impress in this fight given that an early KO was only what was expected. I think Haye will fight Vitali next, and I think he has a very decent chance. If he goes in and boxes Vitali rather than trying to stand and KO him, I don't see any reason why he couldn't pick up a decision. IMO regardless of whether you're a Klit fan or not, the HW division needs Haye to beat a Klit so that a fight with the other brother really has some purpose behind it. We certainly could do without fights like these.
Decent effort by Sosnowski, who was clearly overmatched but came to fight. His stamina has never been his strong point and he did seem to wear down in the end, but he took a good amount of punishment before running out of steam. Vitali is Vitali, he doesn't look pretty but he got the job done. I don't really have much to say about his performance. Maybe he has declined, maybe he hasn't. I think Wladimir is clearly the better of the brothers at this point though. Some may disagree.
I think thats being a bit kind to him, he was trying but Vitali landed the harder shots and was the ring general in there, did you think Sosnowski outlanded him?
Even the commentator after round 7 said the scorecards might be a little closer than Vitali thinks. Sosnowski was never in position to seriousely challenge vitali, but due to vitali's old age he stole one or two rounds from him. Sosowski couldn't knock a sick infant off a potty seat with his best punch, but he did land a couple big right hands on Vitali during those rounds(again, had no effect on vitali) but at least sosnowski landed a big punch. He also landed clean punches to vitali's chest during those rounds and remained the aggresor. Vitali gave the rounds away by pawing his jab, remaining motionless, and most of his slap punches were blocked off by sosnowski. Horrible Horrible rounds by both fighters, but I gave the dragon the benefit of the doubt.
Always thought Haye's chances are better against Vitali than Wlad. They have obviously interesting differences that make it favorable for Haye but Wlad just controls a fight behind his jab much better. The percentages are much better with him against Vitali.
I agree with all of this post. I thought Sosnowski aquitted himelf ok, as much as you ever can in a one-sided thrashing...I found his salute to the crowd at the end of 9 genuinely touching. Vitali did what was needed againstan overmatched opponent. He did not lose a round, although I think I scored the 4th even.
I thought out of all the rounds, round 3 belonged to sosnowski. Or am I confusing round 3, with round 4? hmmmm. Everything else could be argued in favor of Vitali.
:shock::shock: :happy:happy:happy:happy:happy:happy:happy: YYYEEEEEE HEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! how did that happen?
