they are buying into a fighter that to put it frankly is useless because he has arum behind him , thats why i dislike him

Gaz is right though. Even if they built the guy up to be something he's not as seems to be the case, his fans are either too stupid to see that and are in blissfull ignorance or else they see it, but they still enjoy the product he's putting out there.

Either way its free will for them and you can't exactly criticize a promoter and fighter for making the most money they possibly can out of boxing. I'm more worried by people like Hennessy that get the least money and exposure possible.

 

Thats still the fans choice though, at the very least they are having an enjoyable night at the fights or watching a PPV that they obviously think is well worth the money.

The more people enjoying boxing, for whatever reasons, the better for the sport. Thinking we "real" fans know better and should protect the casual fans from being exploited smacks of elitism IMHO.

 

To be fair, after the initial excitement after he turned pro, most Duddy fans on ESB are realistic of what he can and can't do. He's not going to be an ATG or a P4P top 10 guy but he's in decent fights, putting arses on seats and making decent money.
