Good post! That is exactly what stands out to me as well. Right now boxing just has guys with superior speed, athleticism, and quickness.

I think there is possibly some truth in therebeing the less athletically gifted in MMA but i can't help but feeling with the popularity fo the sport that might change.

Thanks for agreeing but as a fan I was just stating the obvious.

Let me simplify it. There have been a few guys in MMA who you cant take down in their weightclass, GSP, BJ, Prime Saku, Crocop, Chuck.

Its not out of realm that if a WClass Pro boxer like a Dawson for example develops a TD defense like the aforementioned fighters.

And then let me know who you think is going to beat them standing up? Wake the **** up guys.

"Man this **** is whack....these guys are not athletes...they all slow and uncoordinated....

take Mosley for example....PFP that dude be liftin more weights than anyone in MMA, well at

least them white dudes.....kids on my block be slapping people harder than Bisping

can punch....and WTF is up with all that gay ass wrestling.....if you a real man you talk with

the fists..Come and talk to the hands b.....**** I could probably whip GSP.....I hold my own with my friends who

be wrestlers and ****...and if it wasn't so gay, I'd do it and win a gold medal or

somethin....there is gonna be a Jack Johnson to come into the MMA but I don't want to go down that road right now....

thankz for not getting into the jack johnson stuff you really would have won me over with the argument of how he waz kept out of boxing for so long because he waz awesome and black and the white promotorz and white fighterz wanted nothing to do with him for so long because of course we all know that the white mma promotorz wont allow any top black boxer in mma because if shane mosley could learn to sprawl no one could ever beat him

wow you seem really happy with the one demonsional disney land you created in your mind, congratulationz

Same tired old moronic bull**** every day on this forum. If only these drooling ******s would grasp the simple fact that a boxer never beats an MMA practitioner in an MMA fight because the martial artist would very obviously not try to stand and strike with them, but simply take them down and either GnP them or submit them. This argument is ****ing boring, it's so simple yet these ****ing idiots start these shitty threads every other day now. **** off.

Boxers can't compete with Bisping's high level English wrestling pedigree!

I'm one of the only pure boxers who trains at my gym. Huge boxing fan boy too, and im sorry. But this post is ****ing ******ed. They are two different sports.

An athlete will be an athlete no matter what sport he is in. Thats why ex-football players can do MMA. Thats why Deon Sanders can play baseball. Thats why Bo Jackson can play football. Herschel walker can do MMA and on and on.

I watched the fight too and they're boxing was ****, but here is the thing. Boxing is a sport, and they weren't in a boxing match. No **** there boxing sucked. Thats like watching the fight and saying "damn from the way these mother****ers wrestled they could never play hockey."

    Dont be stupid.

i agree a little with op. My whole view is that a boxer has the mindset of a high caliber fighter and will apply the same work ethic in boxing to mma. Boxers can help pioneer mma with foot work and sprawl with uppercuts while back pedaling , to me Anderson Silva is a modern day Jack Johnson. He found a fighting system that nullifies offense with defense in a non aggressive manner. Silva has avoided takedowns with footwork Frank Mir explains it well. skip to 5:35

That is a tool lots of boxers can learn having train in mma , utilize punches from the waste line like george foreman.

And its not like a boxer has never beaten a jiujitsu guy before. Sam Mcvey back in 1909 defeated jiujitsuIST tano matsuda, an apprentice of Mitsuda Maeda.

"if a guy is a champion in boxing, he can be good at jiujitsu" -Joe Rogan.

Butterbean Subbed bjj purple belt Zulu. makes you wonder :think

make a boxer start from the bottom, he'll lose to the occasional jiujitsu guy, bounce back and be ufc hw champion with 20+ wins and less than 5 losses in the record. -Drake

^^^ Yea a HW ...someone like Arreola or Chambers could be a UFC HW champ with a 20-5 record....

Someone like Haye would be undefeated and champ though..

This is almost like saying if all the chefs learned how to mix drinks there'd be no more bartenders...

MMA is what it is because you can't specialize too much, if your style is based off of breaking left pinkys someone with no pinkys comes along...

You need to be very well rounded to be good at it that's why it's so hard for these guys to keep an undefeated record cause one day you face a man trying to knock your head off while the next tries to break your leg...
