    That type of logic doesn't work in boxing.

    Marquez and Whitaker are two completely different styles.

    and I said Whitaker would win anyways.

    Yes you did indeed say Pernell would win, but you made it sound so close that it could go either way.

    Whitaker is twice the boxer Marquez is, I would even go as far as saying he is a better technical boxer than Mayweather Jr is. That being said any version of pac would get schooled by Whitaker, don't let wins against cotto, clottey and hatton cloud your judgement. Because these guys ain't even in the same league as a pernell whitaker and never will be.

    Those guys aren't even in the same league as Pacquiao either. I think Marquez had the perfect style to give Pacquiao hell, and even then he lost IMO both fights. Whitaker vs Pacquiao is a different fight altogther, but like I said I think Whitaker's superior jab wins him the fight although Pac would have alot more success than given credit for.

    I think the Whitaker that fought Roger Mayweather or Azumah Nelson against the Pac that fought David Diaz or Ricky Hatton would make for an incredible fight.

    @135lbs Whitaker by UD. (Easy)

    Southpaws...
    Not sure how the Ramirez fight can be used here as reference?
    (I'm sure it could help a little, it's been a while since I last checked it)

    IMO, Pea's jab is too much.

    Whitaker's faced loads of opponents with high outputs and shut them down totally.

    On his work-rate? Despite the fact that Whitaker still holds records for punches landed on opponents?

    You say Marquez has the perfect style to beat Pac yet you feel Whitaker doesn't. I think you should re watch Whitaker fights and then realise pac would get a boxing lesson and it would be very one sided.

    I've watched several Whitaker fights. I really don't think it would be one-sided. Once again Pac's ability is being sold short.

    Like anyone else with a brain would predict, Pernell all day long by comfortable UD. Terrible style for Pacquiao.

    Sweet Pea UD. But I don't believe for one minute it would be the total shut out some people are suggesting.

    Cocaine Pea Vs Balco Pac? I dunno I think Pea has the edge here simply due to his style. He could counter Pac as beautifully as JMM did. He had better defense than JMM and is the bigger man. Im not counting on a TKO though his power was not present at welter.
