Pernell wins a UD. That style would make Pac look like a child.

However, Pac might be greater than Sweet Pea.

As a big pac fan, even I have to say probably pea UD.... Whitaker is the worst stylistic matchup for someone like pac, even worse than may because he has incredible footspeed, pac would be chasing him around all night.

Pernell wins an exciting match, but by a closer UD than exected (116-112)

People underestimate Pacs speed so much... truly annoying. I see a UD for pac in a close fight, with Whitakers footwork and defensive skills keeping him out of danger for too long... I also see him dictating most of the rounds with his jab, but then Pac attacking and landing more shots in combination... with maybe one in every 3 or 4 landing. a close fight, but going in the later rounds, I would favor pac because he never lets up and he has much greater power, combinations, and unorthadox punching angles that Whitaker NEVER saw.

Yeah, but that was at 126. Skills-wise, the Pac at 135, 140, and 147 was much more developed and would destroy the Pac at 126 and 130.

I think it would be a close fight that could go either way.

I'd take Pac on this. Pernell has incredible footspeed, but so does Pac. Pernell has unbelievable defense, but Pac has unbelievable offense. Pernell cannot hurt Pac with his power, but Pac can hurt Pernell with his. Ultimately offense wins fights. Just watch De La Hoya-Whitaker. Sweet Pea made Oscar look foolish a lot, but he couldn't sustain an offense at all.
