Winky does seem like a bit of a dick in interview. Especially lately.... I'm not fighting so and so because they're nobody...... I won the fight but want £ x millions for a rematch :zzz :finger You've not beaten a top class fighter for like years pal A lot of them have different personas away from the stage, Tarver for instance comes across as a prized bell end in the pre-fight stuff, but on commentary is really good.
There was a bit of needle in the build up to their fight if I remember correctly. Back to topic, only met Joe and Enzo. Met Calzaghe once after the Hopkins fight in Planet Hollywood, he seemed a sound bloke and was very gracious to the support from the brits out there. Met and spoke to Enzo Mac loads of times as he lives around by me. He's a top bloke. Oh and I've met Stallone 3 times (Rocky Balboa) if that counts.
Damn right it does :deal Reid still whines about that too so no wonder Calzaghe ripped him to be honest
Richie Woodhall was very quiet and didnt seem to keen to chat ..... Smokin Joe Frasier was a top bloke big smile and had time for people ... Hatton is a funny guy ; i had a run in with some up coming boxer who was shouting his mouth of at a dinner he was spouting off do you know im a boxer to which my response was im an 18st Rugby League player - Hatton piped up my moneys on the rugby player ... My fav pro fighter Joe Egan - a top top bloke who was at my last comeback fight back in Oct 07 .. a genuinely nice bloke ... Tommy Morrison though loves himself ...
I thought Hatton was alright, he wasn't surrounded by his numpties either when I met him so maybe that's why. Nigel Benn was a bit of a let down considering how much I idolised him growing up but maybe my expectations were too high. Robin Reid was a good laugh, met him a few times.
Met Joe C and Enzo Mac in London - Joe was attending a court case with Frank Warren - both Joe and Enzo were really cool. Barry Mcguigan used to own a house about 1/2 a mile from me... bought it off Nigel Mansell. I remember him coming to our school to give a bit of a speech and sign autographs. From what I remember, he was really cool with us. Steve Collins - soundest fella you could ever meet. Derry Matthews too, albeit briefly - nice lad.
I Haven't met any boxer but if I could have a chat with someone for an hour, it would probably be Hopkins. I'm not even a big fan of him as a boxer but he's got presence. I admire the way he turned his life around. Floyd too. Pac is my boy but I look up to Floyd too.
