The power is very much debatable. Golota had superior technique of course. Arreola aint that bad as far as accuracy and i think both are close in that department. And as far as Arreola being a bum, please understand that Golota has been called a bum many times and tbh from any objective point of view, Golota has not achieved anything beyond what Arreola has.
The way Golota fought in the two Bowe fights wipes out Arreola's entire sham of a career. Honestly, the fat cholo has done NOTHING! He's ONLY relevant because of how **** poor the division is. If Arreola was around in 96 when Golota was prime, no one woulda ever heard of this fat tub of ****. He'd be getting beat up by guys like David Izon.
Good points, I agree with this. I mean honestly, I think a guy even like prime Jimmy Thunder could've hanged with Arreola....
I beg to differ. You can't ignore Arreola's assets just because he has deficits, in thesame way you can't ingore Golota's talents due to his mental problems. Fact is, Arreola is a reasonably skilled, fast, accurate puncher for his weight, but more importantly, much tougher in the trenches that Golota. I do not invision Arreola ever quitting against Grant or being blown out by Lewis and Brewster as easily as Golota was. So if Adamek was able to beat a prime Arreola, he can also handle prime Golota. The fact that some people are questioning whether Adamek is a better fighter than Golota (remember a better fighter means the total package that it takes to win, including skills and mental fortitude) seems assinine, considering what Adamek has already proven. The mystique of Golota never seems to end. It's the what if question that seems to eat you up. The what if, never happened in Golota's prime and that's why Adamek is the better fighter. Sure, Golota will take some rounds with his snappy jab, but as soon as he encounters resistence and resiliance that flows through Adamek's blood, he will fold perhaps in a way that Arreola never did.
I voted draw. Golota has much better natural talent in the HW division, but Adamek is a tough one. Adamek gets first few rounds, but Golota is too strong and finally its Andrew who starts winning rounds. Golota tries to outjabbed Adamek and catch him with a rgiht hand. Adamek goes down, but finally gets up, Golota gets frustrated and lose some late rounds. Both fighters may have points deducted for low blows.
atsch I messed up i meant to vote for Golota by ko. If Arreola was in good shape he would have kod Adamek, and Golota always came in shape. I dont think Golota blows this:think:think:think I think Golota might even have an easy night. Golota was very fast and would have got to Adamek. Adamek would be hurt reapeadlty, although having his moments. I think Golota gets him out in 7. Golota ko 7 Adamek
It sounds reasonable, but you forgot few things about Golota. 1st is that Golota was never a good finisher (Bowe, Grant, Ruiz). 2nd is Golota's head. And probably the 1st thing is connected with the 2nd. If not these 2 things, Golota would have became a champion in the 90's with Tyson, Bowe and Holyfield in his record. Only losing to Lennox Lewis (competetive UD) or TKO (cuts).
Even if he had his head straight you cant just assume he would have those 3 on his resume, just the shot Bowe. He was more hurt against Tyson than scared, he didnt become frightened until tasting Mikes power, i think it would be a safe bet to assume Mike still beats him. Holy would have been a nightmare for any version of Golota.
I aint sure if this hypothetical Golota (with clear head and heart to fight) wins over all 3. But he should have been a favorite. All 3 past their primes. Poland has or had so many tough mentally fighters (the toughest obviously Marek Piotrowski, others: Adamek, Michalczewski) and the one who was the most skilled was mentally a midget.
Prime Golota would definently take Adamek. Prime Golota was a great physical specimen, with huge talent, good power, good speed, good chin, good movement, good everything except mentality. If he didnt do anything stupid he would either win by UD or KO/TKO. Adamek has shown he is able to take huge shots, not go down and come back, so I picked Golota UD. If Golota had the mind of Adamek he would have achieved great things.
**** the bed! I accidentally voted for Adamek by KO/TKO, when intended to select Golota by KO/TKO. I'll go with this.
This is in polish, its about fear and pain. The question is: how to beat the fear of the pain. Piotrowski says something like:You will never immunize yourself (against pain) in physical meaning. Its about accepting the pain. In order to that darnkess before your eyes not causing the schock anymore. You can keep fighting after any strike you receive as long as you feel this strike. When you are knocked out its a different story, because you are for a while on the other side. PYTANIE - Jak pokonuje sie strach przed bolem? PIOTROWSKI - Nigdy nie uodpornisz sie w sensie fizycznym. Ta swiadomosc powinna sie zmienic. Chodzi o akceptacje bolu. O to by ciemnosc przed oczami nie wywolywala szoku.
Arreola is just a terrible fighter. Slow, sloppy, fat tub of ****. And I'll once again say... if he was around in the mid to late 90's, he'd be a non-factor in the division. SO TO would Adamek. Its easy to see Adamek beat the hell outta the relic of Golota, and give him a chance vs a prime Golota, but theres a HUGE differance between the 96 Golota and the Golota of now. Adamek doesnt have the power to hurt a prime Golota, and wouldnt be able to outbox him either. I see Golota putting together combos on the easy to hit Adamek and stopping him within 6.
I watched the highlight of Golota's actions in Bowe fights and I forgot how fast was Golota in his prime. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iK1EapQPt2o[/ame] Golota looked there like he could beat every fighter. First I voted a draw, now I am undecided Golota UD or Golota TKO. I believe in Adamek toughness and smartest and I think that he could have seen the final belt.
