A pair of very competitive IBF title contests promises some excitement on an otherwise thin weekend for the sport. ESPN doesn't have a very attractive card lined up, Showtime has nothing Friday or Saturday, and Solo Boxeo still has TBA in its main event! The only American televised card will be Cotto-Foreman.

A few hours before Yankee Stadium fills up, however, two can't-miss battles will be waged in Neubrandenberg as a bit of an appetizer.

Watch if you can! These are both pick'em affairs and could potentially both produce fireworks. :good

Yeah, was looking forward to it but a girlfriend of mine is visiting this weekend so we are probably out drinking and celebrating.

Sylvester-Karmazin is 55-45 and should be exciting.

Cunningham is the fav but if he is rusty, Ross could take him.

Yep, that's a nice card. Smart move from Cunningham, he's getting paid well in Germany and will end up facing - and beating - Marco Huck again, for The Ring title and his biggest payday. Ross is a solid fight, also Karmazin is very dangerous on his A-day so Sylvester is in a good one too.

Both fights will be aired? So Cunningham-Ross is at 1pm EST?

Excellent card! Both fights should produce enough excitement.

Limited, good jab, decent defense and power. But he has determination and dedication and can dig deep. Haven“t seen a boring fight of his. One of the weaker belt holders though.

Good style matchup this fight, should be fun to watch.

I haven't seen much of Sylvester but Karmazin is looking like he's done. It may be a decent fight but Sylvester should be able to beat a faded Karmazin. Cunningham-Ross is a good fight but Cunningham seems to be the better fighter and should win. Not a bad card with a couple fights that should be competitive.

Roman Karmazin is almost like a modern-day Cinderella man. I thought his career was over after Bunema laid him out in brutal fashion and his age caught up to him. Hell, even as he's been winning since then, he still fights like an old shell of himself...but the guy just kept winning, including a stunning KO over Dionisio Miranda. He's now is just a few days away from what will, in all likelihood, be his last title shot and his chance to go out with a bang.

I hope he can pull it off!

Sylvester and Cunningham should (and probably will) be the betting favorites, but there are factors that make it interesting:

...Cunningham's eleven months out of the ring (especially since Nazim Richardson's last fighter to step in the ring after a long layoff got beaten up after tiring early)...

...Ross' hunger and desire to shine in the big fight promised but for so long forestalled after his Contender tournament win...

...Sylvester's vulnerability, especially having been in some give-and-take wars, and with the knowledge that his opponent will not be expecting or trying for a decision win in Germany...

...Karmazin's embodiment of the spirit of the phrase "puncher's chance". It won't come easy, and it won't come early, but if there's a ghost of a chance of getting the KO, he'll chip away until he gets it, right up until the last minute of the 12th...

I love Roman Made in Hell Karmazin but I can't see him wining this fight. The guy has been in a lot of wars and doesn't react well anymore when hit solid. This is a great card.:good
