I'm curious whom classic feels has the better chin. Actual explanations would be great as well. :happy
Jose Luis Ramirez, not even close. The explanation does not need to be lengthy either - look at the guys he fought, when he fought them, and how many times his chin held solid. Ramirez is class A chin in a historical context. Castillo's whiskers were not proven to anywhere near the same degree as I see it.
Not sure about that... Corrales was an absolutely massive puncher and the punches he ate from him, often in combinations, were sickening. Plus he was only down once in his entire career from a bodyshot that broke several of his ribs, similar to Ramirez's only stoppage actually.
Who hit harder - Ruben Olivares or Ricky Hatton? :huh Corrales stopped Castillo, had him out on his feet, and Corrales was not an "absolutely massive puncher" at all, he was a very good puncher but not a great one. No way in hell is Corrales ever stopping Ramirez.
Ramirez has been in with the better punchers and soaked it up so you have to give him the edge. I think Corrales was a murderous puncher at LW though if he actually landed. Castillo had a pretty great chin. Surving isn't just about chin ofcourse, thats something thats often forgot, its just as much about ring smarts, stamina, defense, fighting back, holding, rolling with the punch, taking your opponent out of optimal range - survival stratagies/smarts effectively
Ramirez was in there with the likes of Olivares, Arguello, Chavez, and ****ing Rosario, and only was stopped once by a body shot from El Puas, so yeah, Ramirez definetly had the better chin.
Ramirez pretty clearly...Castillo had a very good beard but he was stopped brutally a couple of times, and rocked more times in the fights Ive seen from the two. JLC was more skillful I feel, he had the better D, which may give the impression that this is closer than it really is. JLR's chin was among the best of his time.
Ramirez...The dude went toe to toe with Edwin Rosario and held up just fine. That alone proves it, in my opinion, as Castillo was the one stopped in a similar war with a similar puncher.
I can't see Castillo going the distance with Rosario or Arguello. Doubt he does with Chavez either, though he may.... I think Ramirez could take Corrales' stuff for 12 rounds, even though he'd probably knock Corrales out well before that....

A better question is probably who has a better chin Miguel Angel Gonzalez or Jose Luis Castillo....
I disagree i think Corrales was a massive puncher. Although i do agree that Ramirez had the better chin.
Ramirez even though JLC proved to be teak-tough against Chico (and the Hatton fight doesn't even count for multiple reasons).
