yeah its wrong for me. a guy in the final can fight someone coming in without them having had a fight. For me if someone go's out on cuts they should draw the losing guys names out of a hat and let one of them fight. or the closest loser or something
I think what would be a good idea is to have the 2 reserves fight each other for the right to take the place. That means the best guy goes through and they will have a similar level of fatigue to their opponent in the (semi)final.
Either one of these ideas is fine. The alternate fight was the path chosen by UFC back in the day, when they had a knockout on-the-night formula. The alternate fights were not a part of the live broadcast but took place right before the main event started. Sometimes it through up some nice footage, as on the occasion where an alternate sustained a cut that needed 100 stitches  You literally couldn't tell who was bleeding and who was covered.
i dont think that ufc idea would work as then youd need to get another 8 fighters who are of decent caibre, and tell them you gotta go through a whole tourney and not get on the telly unless someone in the televised tourney gets cut, oh and you wont win any money
Well these guys are at the level where they are fighting un-televised four-rounders anyway. Why not do one where they might get into prizefigher?
