Well as the topic title states, and why are they not forced to fight or be stripped? am I missing something here? Surely if they are universally recognised as 1 and 2 in the heavyweight division, surely the WBC, IBF and WBO have each other as number 1 challengers for the belts and have been for a while??

Should they not be stripped of these belts? This is not a Klit hate topic, i'm just curious regarding this situation.

    They wont fight.
If they get stripped, those organizations wont make money with other heavyweights.
    Money matters.

None of the main sanctioning bodies include champions of the other bodies in their rankings.

    So, no, they're not.

But then it's an injustice to all the other fighters who play by the "rules". If they can't fight then need to vacate. Simple as that, no? Other fighters get stripped for not fighting a mandatory challenger, so the Klit's shouldn't be getting any favours. It just undermines the whole thing!

Eh, I disagree with this.. They are working hard and clobbering everybody, let them do what they want.. They deserve what they have.

    You have any siblings?

That and as stated above, the main sanctioning bodies don't include champs from other sanctioning bodies in their rankings..

    Simple NO.

It is strange, but it's not normal to include beltholders from one of the other alphabets into the ranking. Think it has to do with loss of control on their own title if a fighter can force their champion into a fight.
Otherwise there wouldn't be a problem for Wlad to unify the belts. He just forces Haye to fight him because he would be the #1 for any alphabelt he doesn't have.

    Silly question.

Once a fighter wins a major title (WBC, IBF, WBO, WBA) he is automatically removed from all of the major sanctioning bodies rankings.

    So the thread ends there.

However, even if that wasn't the case... a mandatory challenger doesn't have to fight for the title if he doesn't want to. I don't see why anyone would have to be stripped. If Vitali was ranked as Wlad's #1 contender.... Vitali would simply not pursue the fight and Wlad would move down to the next available highest ranked contender. Wouldn't effect Wlad at all.

The sanctioning bodies don't have any official recourse in the rules to force this fight.

That's why it's up to one of us to kidnap one or both of them and force them to agree to it on video at gunpoint.

I'd disagree. Lennox was the man.

Champions are not ranked in an organization they dont hold a belt for.

Wlad is IBF,IBO, & WBO champ... thus he is NOT ranked in the WBC

I think every boxing fan would love to see that rule changed, cause it makes 'ducking' very hard and ducking as a beltholder almost impossible.
It would be so much easier to unify the division, and we wouldn't have the sh*t we have today in HW.

I agree. Lennox was undisputed until he sold off those other belts to King's cronies.

Wladimir is the Ring Magazine Champion and the #1 Heavyweight now & that's good enough for me.
