During an interview on another sight, Martinez stated that he was plan B for Mayweather if the Pacquiao fight falls through. Martinez's advisor said that it was "definately accurate" when asked if Martinez was in fact Mayweather's plan B. That's a hell of backup plan if this is indeed accurate. So it looks like Mayweather will be facing either the P4P King(according to Ring Magazine) or the MW/JMW King next. While it would be great to see Mayweather fight Martinez at JMW or MW, I still would rather see him fight Pacquiao. How about Mayweather vs. Pacquaio and Martinez vs. Margarito, and then the winners can face eachother?

Because Pacquiao's mother won't allow him to fight anymore, so that isn't going to happen.

But man, the level of competition is staggering. Margarito is a glove loading bum and Martinez is Middleweight Champion of the world.

That actually sounds pretty damn good. Margarito has no chance against this Martinez. Actually out of all those fighters i think Martinez wins a 4 man tourney.

    Awesome stuff.

I think Martinez is a tougher match up than Pac.

I would prefer to see the Pac fight though, biggest fight in quite awhile.

I don't think Margarito deserves to be in the mix, put PW where Margarito is.

What has Margarito got to do with it? Get that man gone from my eyes...but yeah, you are right, that is a hell of a plan B. The cure may be worse than the disease for Mayweather.

If he's going to fight Martinez, it should absolutley be for the MW title.

    Don't you guys think?

  8. ****in egos ey. But yeah for the MW title that would be something very impressive. Mayeather has looked after his chin well for something like this.

Of course, no other reason to fight him than for the belt at Middleweight, it isn't like he has a following and the amount of danger is well above the reward for a non-title fight at lets say 154.

I mean if he jumps from 147 to 160 and fights Martinez for the lineal MW title, that would be amazing.

He should go for it. This is even better for his legacy than beating Pac.

Not neccesarily. Mayweather is going around saying belts do nothing but collect dust. So I'd imagine he wouldn't be too interested in collecting a MW title. Not only that, but when he went up to 154 before, he weighed in at 150. So it would be a real stretch for him to go to 160. However, he could make a hell of a statement if he were to fight and beat Martinez for the MW title. If he were to pull that off, he wouldn't be laughed at as much when he says he's better than SRR.

I don't think beating Martinez is enough to put Mayweather anywhere near Sugar Ray Robinson. Maybe Sugar Ray Leonard but even that is a major stretch.

But what they could do is fight it at a catchweight of as low as 156...MW belts on the line...

Great fight. very difficult, I would love to see it and he would distance himself from pac imo with the lineal MW championship.
