If they were lying, what would stop Haye's camp coming out and showing us the actually details they were offered?

This quote says there's nothing going on behind closed doors.

 

**** knows what is or isn't going on behind closed doors but people are taking a lot for granted if they automatically take what Wlads manager has said at face value.

To say the guy is biased and has a agenda in all this is the understatement of the year.

The usual route to a contract is that you make a verbal offer (or jot down critical points), get a reply that the other party is interested then you get the legal people (lawyers etc) involved to hammer out an actual contract.

Just like you buy a house. You agree on a price and conditions, then get the legal details work out. Not the other way around.

If Booth does not reply to any calls from K2 how could they ever possibly send him a contract.

No response,nothing. Now his most ardent of fans will claim this is maybe mind games,but is it really? He's losing more and more of his own fans by the week.

 

But we don't know that. You make a formal offer on a house where your lawyer tells the estate agent what you're prepared to offer. They pass it to the owner's lawyer or to them direct. They respond whether they wish to accept the offer in principle. If both agree, they work up more detailed terms.

There might be a verbal offer made, but it doesn't mean anything until it's on paper. You could offer the asking price and then, when submitting the formal offer, vastly undercut it.

So, the analogy is accurate, but you've neglected that a verbal offer is basically hot air. Same as Hennessey's 'handshake' with Sauerland - it counts for nothing when the ships are down. An actual victory is always better than a moral one.

Always amazes me that when boxers teams are negotiating fights worth millions of pounds, and that affect careers potentially worth many millions more, boxing fans get caught up in the play ground squabble of who called who out.

If a fighter gets called out and and the bout doesn't materialise then it must be his fault? Forget the lawyers, TV contracts, the options, the site fee etc and the fact the any combination of a number of things could have prevented the fight from going ahead.....HE'S BEEN CALLED OUT!!!

I dont really know to be honest and to tell you the truth i've no idea where they stand in current negotiations. My main point was that no-one has seen any sign of a contract so all this stuff coming out in the press (mainly from Vlads camp) means nothing really. They could be telling Haye one thing and telling everybody else something different.

Maybe Haye has decided to keep his mouth shut, this time, until everythings sorted out? He made himself look a bit of a plank, pulling out of two fights, for whatever reason. We'll no doubt hear from him/Booth soon.

 

Why? Have you missed the entire point?

Why would Haye or Booth respond to what is basically an off-hand comment. Until K2 have made a formal offer there's nothing to respond to. Unless there's a formal offer, there's nothing to prove that K2 made any offer at all.

Haye could say:

"I'm prepared to offer a 95-5 split in Wlad's favour and he gets a shot on my wife." Wlad could accept that, but when the formal offer comes in, it's a 50-50 split with no extra-marital sex involved. Is Wlad then 'ducking' if he doesn't accept it? No, because it didn't match the offer, so any agreement he made to the vverbal offer is now irrelevant.

What sounds more likely is the 'verbal offer' has been met with Booth and Haye saying: put it in writing in a formal offer and we'll get back to you. They haven't responded to the offer because there is no offer.

 

Why has he not responded to Wlad's black and white call out??

Who gives a ****? It doesn't mean anything unless it's in writing. Why respond? He's got Wlad chasing him - he's the one in control. Plus the video was painfully bad. "You beeshed owt." Behave, Wlad.

 

I honestly think Haye/Booth have changed tactics. When has Haye ever been this quiet, for this long. If he wanted, he could just keep appearing in interviews on sky sports saying "I'm going to smash the Klitschko's up", as he has numerous times in the past. There has to be reason he's keeping out of the public eye.

Either, he wants nothing at all to do with Vlad/Vitali or he's choosing to keep quiet until something formal is on the table and signed? Maybe Booth sees this as putting the ball in the Klitschko camp. Bring us an acceptable contract offer or we'll move on and earn a sh*t load against someone else.

The Klitschko's know that Haye brings a lot to the table, not least the other Heavyweight World Title. They will be desperate to make a deal.
