I measure P4P by dominance and competition fought. Say what you want about the heavyweights, but Wlad's been dominating top 3, top 5, and top 10 talent there for years and routinely shuts them out. He's fought 9 times since the Sam Peter fight 5 years ago and he's lost, perhaps, 5 rounds in that time. The guy averages losing less than a round a fight vs his opponents now- think about that. He hasn't just gone unbeaten over the past 5 years, he loses about a round a year. And he's getting more dominant as time's been going on.

And in the past 5 years time, he's a) won the title. b) unified. c) defended it 8 times.

Even for those who punish him for being a heavyweight, there's more than enough there to justify that high of a P4P ranking. He's one of the 3 most dominant fighters in the sport today along with Floyd and Pac. So, I don't have a problem at all with him being ranked third. In fact, the next time I make a p4p list that's where he'll be.

 

Nobody gives a **** about p4p lists except the Ring one, which is The Worst. P4p is a ******ed concept, but it seems to excite imbeciles...everybody can tell Floyd and Pacquiao are the best current fighters, no need for a ****ing list.

TBH, I'd have a hard time placing Wlad in the top 5 p4p. He's good, but he's also a good 250 lbls in weight. p4p confuses me greatly.

 

I don't think Wlad belongs on any P4P lists. He's a good fighter, but he's also bigger than everyone else.
It's hard for any heavyweight to be considered P4P. But, especially one who is reliant on being larger to win.

 

I didn't know this was a myth... There have been many many heavyweights in P4P rankings.

 

fckin Donaire seriously in top10? I'd have Chris John, Lopez, Gamboa, Cab, all ahead of him
