Shannon Briggs says Wlad is psychologically intimidated by him

In reality I think Briggs had a lot of potential. He was/is a big guy, had deceptively fast hands, throws a nice double/triple left hook & he has serious power.

That being said, he never had the best chin, he's a serious underachiever given the skills he has, & he played the race card against Liakhovich. He claimed Sergei was a racist and then admitted after the fight that he made that **** up to sell tickets. That's lame.............really lame, not that it would be the first time that a fighter did that for money. I've never liked him after that.

 

Rahman was the next highest ranked guy when Povetkin pulled out of his mandatory with an injury. By fighting Rahman Wlad fulfilled his mandatory so he could be free to fight a voluntary defense against David Haye.

 

Accomplished what? In his prime he got a gift decision win over 50 year old Foreman.

 

Briggs is a huge under achiever, but I think he would have a good chance of knocking Haye out. Wlad kills him tho, taming him with the jab then stopping him around the midway point of the fight. Once he starts gassing, Wlad tees off and ko's him

I remember that. Unlike most boxer (and people), Briggs is a natural, fluent speaker but Wlad kinda owned him there and showed no intimidation whatsoever.

 

I always liked Briggs, but he ha become progressively more of an *******. This pissed me off, and the other things was when he compared himself to Ali and Sugar Ray Robinson.

 

Briggs will say anything that could land him a shot at one last big payday.
