Which technical, let alone athletic ability has Froch ever shown? They're two bad fighters with good chins...only one of them has serious KO power, go figure.

 

Froch getting written off again, I see. I don't know what makes some people on here think this fight is a forgone conclusion.

Yes, we're all well aware of Froch's flaws (defence, footwork, yadda yadda yadda), but it's not like Abraham has looked much better recently either. Froch should have beaten Kessler (i know, woulda, shoulda, coulda) but he didn't. But, I've also never seen anyone hurt Kessler as much as Froch did - his jab was good and his straight right hand was accurate and punishing.

Take the K.O. punch out of the Taylor fight and it was a somewhat lasklustre performance by AA. He also looked much worse against Dirrell; he was clowned for the most part and when he threw those wild lunging hooks he was always off balance and wide open for the counter. Perhaps the same can be said of Froch, but that's why I feel this will be such an intriguing fight. What if when Abraham lands a bomb or 2 and Froch doesn't crumble like the last 2 (Taylor = questionable stamina, Dirrell = questionable heart)? Has Abraham been in with as heavy a puncher as Froch? Suppose you could say Miranda but he has been ineffective at 168 and Froch is a huge SMW who is going to utterly dwarf AA. There are still so many intangibles going into this scrap.

Given Abraham's low punch output, if Froch stays behind his long jab and picks his counters (something he can do very well), he can definitely beat AA.

 

Maybe Switzerland.

They want this fight to happen in a "neutral" place, because Froch doesn´t want to fight in Berlin and AA has no intentions to travel to Nottingham. There are still negotiations about the location.

 

Froch actually surprised me positively against Kessler. I thought he'd lose widely, but the fight was very close. AA did the opposite vs Dirrel: i thought he'd win more rounds than he did... so I'm tentatively picking Abraham, but not counting Froch out.

 

Abraham must be in the top 3 lbs4lbs for KO power.

What's scary isn't only the KO, it's the fact that he does it so late in fights and with just a single punch. He was slowly getting there against Dirrell but his frustration got him out of his gameplan and Dirrell's fighting ability is the reason behind it.

 

Froch got knocked by Taylor... or hit cleanly by Dirrell/Kessler..
he won't be breating once he tasted AAs puches

 

I've lost all my respect for Abraham after the sh*t he pulled vs Dirrell. Could have ruined the guy's career with one punch. But realistically, the Froch that fought Kessler doesn't stand much of a chance against Abraham. He was just too lazy in that fight.

If he fights with the determination he showed in other fights, Abraham might be in trouble. Because when Abraham unleashes his flurries, he exposes himself. And Froch's uppercuts... Froch has very good power too BTW. It should be a good good fight.

Dirrell was tiring and the fight had entered Abraham's domain, I was on the edge of my seat thinking he could do it...:-(

Froch continues with the low left hand and not snapping out the jab often enough then Abraham will get openings.

I really don' think it matters where this fight will be held, Abraham is going in there to make sure he goes into the Semi's. Froch's bitching right after the loss to Kessler rubs people up the wrong way, even Kessler was taking the **** out of him.

What is worse for Froch, he's had a bit of a ding dong with some of the UK boxing journalists. Many of the hacks thought Kessler had won, Froch was meant to be insensed with some of their private comments to him.

 

Froch really believes he can fight like Dirrell did . The problem is no one told him he's as fast as a slug . Its going to be a great scrap but its not looking good for Froch .

 

I agree. However, Froch is taller but also slower than AA and thus I don't think he will be able to benefit from AA's "flaw".
